Discussion / idle chat thread (2022) Week 52 Showcase

It's here again!

Time to get yer smalls in! :runaway:

NEW THEME TOMORROW!!!!!! :banana::naughty::banana:

I am finally up to date, is it Thusday yet? :)

Would you believe it after the doom and gloom of yesterday, the sun is shining and I can just slip in at the last moment my dappled light pic. Hurrah! Who would have thunk?!

Ok, I'm ready to go for a new week! Will it be a BIG one?
I won't know until I throw a dart into the list of themes tommorow
( Its costing me a fortune in monitors :( )

Heck! I thought it was Thursday today!! that's one of the problems of being retired - you never know what day it is!

that's one of the problems of being retired - you never know what day it is!
I know exactly what you mean, and I'm sure I'd forget if @-Oy- didn't nudge me on a Weds.
It also is bin day here (Thurs) I'd likely forget that too :D

Bin day every day here. Downside is that despite inventing flush toilets thousands of years ago, the sewage system still can't cope with paper! (Hence the daily bin collection!!!)

It's also slow internet - between 0.6 and 5.5 Mb/s (D/L - U/L is even slower) which is a bit of a drag when posting here.

Chris, I have a few old CRT monitors in the loft (and a crossbow with rubber suckers on the darts). Free to a good home (fresh owner collects!!!)

Always the same, get a new camera and it chucks it down with rain lol
You don't fancy a visit with you rnew camera to MK do you?
its not really rained in about 6 weeks, here.
and the predicted storms have turned into light drizzle.
Heavy rain predicted for later on this afternoon, I bet that'll be no more than gnats pee again.
:(

On to Week 35
It seems we are straight into a snappers choice this week.

And what the sun dropping quickly these days,
Shadow(s) should be an easy technique too.

The rain that we have had is really helping the lawns, but we still need more as it just stopped.
I use 2 forecasts, one is saying wet in a couple of hours, the other is saying that it will miss me totally.
I'll put some washing out, that'll settle the "argument" :D

Thanks to you I now use ventusky, great weather app.
It is indeed (y)
Although MSN weather can be set to town specific, and it does tend to be quite accurate..
Washing on the line well see which is correct :D

Hey Cobra, I still have a few themes to sort out, Ive not been able to get out for a while, anyroad I'm now back to full health (I thought I was earlier but was sadly mistaken) and need to finish them plus the last tech thingy .... is it ok to submit them over the next few weeks?

BTW ... we have a another yellow warning for rain over the weekend ... there's no shortage of water here :)

I'm glad you are feeling better now :)
No worries Just make sure you label them for week/ theme/ tech.
Just to make Tim's / Alison's life easy.

I keep getting those and yet it somehow seems to miss me.
Its the Chiltern hills, they seem to either protect me from the worst of the weather, or occasionally they trap it in.
Then I know all about it.

Didn't realise you were also in the Chilterns.
The Chilterns are a little south east of me (I'm in MK)
the prevailing weather comes from south west.

Whipsnade zoo is high up in the Chilterns and that certainly has its own micro climate.

Same here...even Ventusky keeps promising rain and then changes it to sunshine 2 hours before it was due. We had exactly six drops on the window when storms were forecast , Hoping that the shadow tech will bring on shadowless grey skies full of the wet stuff

Same here MSN weather the afternoon "down pour" has now moved to 12 hours later ( early morning tomorrow) :(

Just had some rain here in North MK, just about 20 drops, which was lucky as I was going to cut the straw with the lawn mower.

Pete

We were forecast rain and thunder storms for this afternoon - dry as a bone and not a drop in sight!

I even put washing out, that never helped either :(

My washing brought grey skies today, but no rain.

Sorry I've not been commenting - feel free to reciprocate by ignoring me for a while :) Hopefully will get on it soon...

Sorry for me comments in the last week. Been (still in) Corfu. Been busy poolside and in the bar - just squeezed last weeks theme in but dodgy Wi-Fi and procrastination done for me.
Hopefully back in circulation by the weekend.

I don’t think anyone need be sorry. Circumstances can get in the way.
Commenting can be a bit of a chore, but I think it’s worth it. It’s part of helping each other and also making you think about composition (in my case at least).

Indeed, I don't comment much on any of the forums that I frequent, but I do appreciate the comments ones make and have learnt a lot from reading them not just on my own threads but others to. :)

BIN DAY SNAKEY!!!!!!

Erm... I mean... new theme tomorrow folks! Get those snapper's choice snapped!:naughty::banana:

Somebody has to keep those Sun Loungers occupied and you do need to keep hydrated as well. Don't worry you will soon be back to the UK :D

Week 36.

I know we all live in different environments,
so lets just call this weeks theme 'Scapes. be that land or city / town.
You chose, and its another ideal theme for you to get the Tech, in aka Shadows.

I am so kind to you lot at times :D

Nice theme (I think)! I like a 'scape. I just need the sun to shine - has been wet in this neck of the woods, and forecast indifferent for a week or so.

If it carries on here my grass will be long enough and I can take a landscape out the back with shadows from the long grass lol
