Discussion / idle chat thread (2022) Week 52 Showcase

Still raining here so lots of opportunities for both!!

Oh I've done this week's already then lol
That was fast, 7 mins to take the image, get it edited and posted.
I'm impressed (y)

Should be a fantastic opportunity as it's done nothing but rain here in South Wales for about 6 months
However, I've tested positive for the dreaded 'rona this week and feeling under the weather myself and currently isolating, so this might be a tricky week.

A quick check, yes its Thursday yet again, so, onto
Week 09.

At least its finally finished raining for most,
but it has left everywhere a tad Damp

Its new technique month too,
On reflection(s) not many people seemed to like the last one.
Maybe this one is more to your liking?
Well as I am in town now I will not be doing a jazz shot, great theme and tech

The idea is that you take a fresh one to suit the weeks theme.
It seems a bit of a waste of my time otherwise.
:(
Maybe the all themes should be post an image that you took last week?
I have to say the fun of the themes is to go out and take the image after it has been set.

j/k

i just seem to have an uncanny knack of posting something which would be perfect for the following week. Or in this case, 2 weeks.

Well I am suffering with the worlds worst man flu at the moment (all tests thus far say negative) so hopefully I get out and about at some point. If not, I can use one taken like three days ago, or try and stage something in the garden / sink! I am not even going to my photography class tonight.....

That's great, assuming you are feeling well enough to go out over the week, or don't have covid, etc.

I have already stated I will look at something else instead of the picture(s) taken on Sunday, in the sun, with massive puddles, when I was feeling better lol.

I went through a phase last year when I swear I was giving @Cobra ideas :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Sorry to hear some people are suffering ill health @Simonbrown16 @Adamsk1 and hope you feel better soon.

The idea is that we get a new pic and though we all go through times when we have to resort to an archive shot, there is a week to go, so don't rush into using an old one. You've got weeks to get the Reflections technique.

I think I've had some of my most creative moments when I've been backed into a corner and as @Scots_quine says, you just need to think around it and there's nothing wrong with an indoor shot.

I am okay, I just have man flu. I have been up since 3 am so I am a tad grumpy.

Like I said, it is shame I took those pictures on the weekend just gone (although it would appear the weather was perfect for them) as had it been this weekend I was laughing :)

I am not heading to my photography class as it has been 3 days of feeling crummy and I do not want to pass anything as severe as man flu on to others, plus they are introducing ITC which due to the forum I have already learned about (will have a go at single / double exposure in my house over the weekend). I have already popped out the back for a snap with my new photography sphere....so I will get something ready :)

That's all my comment was meant to be...

My ICM shot used light. Two weeks later the theme is light.
My alley shot used damp puddles and reflections. Two weeks later that's the theme and the tech.

Think it happened about four weeks in a row last year...

I’m in Manchester today. Damp shouldn't be a problem

Although there are no hard and fast rules, I would hope ( know) that most people stick to the spirit of the thing.
Yes re-edit an archive is still in force for those that find themselves grounded for what ever reason, but it would be nice if they at least tried before
resorting to it.

That’s not how it’s supposed to work.:police::exit:
Absolutely.

We were connected telepathically I guess :D

Yeah, bright and sunny on a "Damp" theme, I've pulled a few fast ones (AKA shoehorn) over time but even I wouldn't have attempted to do that ;)

For the last 2 years I have been more or less confined to the house through ill health. And still managed to submit a new image for every theme despite that. Sometimes it just needs a bit of thinking around it.
Exactly. And well done for trying & succeeding (y)

Oh please do... I've often wondered what a damp squib looks like
A lot like a dry one I guess .... just damp :D

I think I got lucky today, that's for sure.

Will ‘Mildly moist’ be acceptable for this week? :)

The above came out wrong, must be the forum swear box.
It is :D

I'm sorry @Cobra , but if you look at my thread you'll see it was a bright day and it was also damp with some large puddles on the floor! So I stand by my comment
Fair enough, the raised foreground looked more like a water feature, than a puddle.

Either though I never saw Nods suspenders panties and a bra, but thank god you never saw my one off naked shot for a theme

That could easily be rectified and I have a feeling it would be fairly transparent when damp. A selfie wearing it, taken via a mirror would fulfil the brief(s!!!)

HOWEVER, I hereby solemnly swear that I will NOT post any suspenders etc. shots OR personkini shots in this challenge. Unless the theme is poor taste beachwear in late June or late August/early September, in which case the gloves are off!
