If I look back at my first 52, it took me ages to get it right at all, and then work out a system that works for me.
I normally have to have three tabs open. Flickr, my personal thread, and the image thread.
It sounds ridiculously complicated, but like all other things, once you get used to it, it becomes second nature.
- Go to personal thread.
- Edit thread name and say it's updated with Week XX and the theme - (and if it includes the technique - to make life easier for @LC2.)
- Make the post in my own thread, and paste in the flickr link to display the image. And post it.
- Copy the url for that post and keep that safe.
- Go to the main image thread and start a post saying Week XX - Theme.
- Highlight those words and paste the link back to my own thread - using the method above.
- Switch to Flickr and copy the image link again, then paste that into the main thread. And post that.
- Have a cup of tea.
That's almost exactly how I do it except I only copy the Flickr link once and open both the 'Submissions' and 'my thread' in separate tabs and paste the link in to both, leaving a couple of empty lines at the top for text insertion; I can then close the Flickr tab as I no longer need it. I now have two tabs, I complete the post in the 'my thread', er, thread then click on the 'share' symbol and copy. Paste this in the hyperlink in the 'Submissions' thread -- you cannot paste this link directly -- and insert that. Post the thread and it's all done. Now I read it, it does seem like a real trial but I've done it so many times now (coming on to 100) that it's a walk in the park.
