Hi guys,

I am after a non descript, discrete camera bag which will fit my gripped 550D with a 70-200mm Canon 2.8L attached with the lens hood on.

I've had a look but can't make up my mind. Ideally I would like one without any logos on.

I would also like room for two smaller lenses.

I prefer the easy access of a shoulder bag (man/canvas bag style). It doesn't really matter if it's big.

My max limit is 60 pounds.

I hope there is one available :).

Cheers,

Laurence

I've just ordered a tamrac rally 6. It's not arrived yet so I can't say much else about it but I think that it should fit the bill. The plain black version is £28 from Harrisons.

It looks ideal only problem is it doesn't support the cam with this lens attached.

I am trying to avoid excessive lens changes as 90% of the time I use my 70-200mm and like to keep dust etc out :).

Hi Laurence, just been having a look and this one might be suitable as you can alter the insides to suit what way you want. It's a Tamrac System 3 Camera Bag Black TA5603. Looks like it could be about the right size and at warehouse express it's well within your budget.

Hi Stuart, that looks ideal I wonder if it can fit a 70-200mm in without removing the lens first, looks like it might be a bit tricky. Guess I will do some research.

Still open to any more suggestions from members. :)

Cheers,

Laurence

Judging by the internal measurements it wont be far away from a holding your 550D and lens. They are great quality bags though. I started with the Ultra pro 13, which I've now got upstairs empty, and went to the Expedition 9 backpack when my gear outgrew it. Took the 550D out today to make room for the 5D MkII when it arrives.

Thanks for this looks exactly what I'm looking for and a great price

I wish I could buy it from you mate but I can't access the for sale section just yet (I presume).

Hi guys, the Think Tank Slign-O-Matic 20 is perfect but well above my budget before I order that as it's around 120 quid just for a bag, are they any alternatives?

70-200mm with hood, attached to a gripped cam, and ideally room for another lens or two.

Thanks in advanced.

Cheers

I just asked about these bags in the shopping area. I've been searching for one that will hold my D90 with 70-200 attached plus other lenses. One with a quick access port would be preferable.

this looks to be the best one I came across:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/VANGUARD-UP-Rise-48-Backpack-Camera/dp/B002T4G0WM/ref=pd_cp_ce_1

It's fairly discreet in that it doesn't have any major logos on front [just a black Vanguard logo thieves may not recognise]. if you look it up on youtube there are demos with people placing dslr + grip + 70-200 in , with what seems like plenty of room to spare. I love the orange inner colouring too :D

Matt Granger likes it: He's shown putting a D700 with grip + Nikon 70-200 in with plenty of space over. That camera and grip would be larger than your 550D, lens about the same size I'd say.

Or if you prefer the messenger type bags, they have ones like this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/VANGUARD-U...KBJA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1320858824&sr=8-2

For a bit cheaper. That will also hold a body, grip and 70-200 plus others.

I'm still in the midst of my searching, maybe others who use these bags can comment on their quality.
