Dining room.

Buy her a nice display cabinet and get your gear in first....I did.

I think your wife is being a bit hard on you! She'd probably have a fit if she saw my gear everywhere.

I'm setup in the living room, my wife is quite happy with it. She says that she'd never see me, if I had everything stashed somewhere else in the house. :)

My wife said "if that's how much he loves her, she'd be better off leaving him".

Not the intended audience then. ;)

I'm a bit of a neat freak especially when it comes to tec but a lot of this goes back to my days in electronics when I had stuff all over the place. These days I hate to see a piece of electronic tec out in the open as I think it dominates a room and I Iike a room to look cosy and human, not like a branch of Currys :D so anything other than the TV and HiFi gets put out of site when it's finished with.

If I was in the op's position I'd put it all away somewhere and if there wasn't any free room I'd buy a storage box and shove it all somewhere like under the bed or in the bottom of a wardrobe.

mm , the wife is sick of me keeping all my stuff under the dining room table, she said either it moves or she does.
Apparently Travel Lodge have some good deals at the moment.

I'd seriously compare other accommodation prices before you make a rash decision  The saving could buy you some extra gear :naughty:

Tell her you'll get rid of the dining table and you didn't realise how much it offended her!

It might be that she struggles doing the vacuuming, be a considerate chap and put the gear on top of the dining room table.

Or you could empty one of her wardrobes and put your gear in there?

Or to help pay the divorce lawyer's first consultation fee! ;)

Joking aside, perhaps explain that it needs to be kept somewhere that's not damp and cold and see if you can work together to find somewhere more suitable for your camera kit. I'd imagine it would be a sitting target for burglars if it's on open display under the dining table, so it might be in both your interests to find somewhere better for it to live?

Oh, and suggesting it might fit in the wardrobe if some of the old clothes and shoes in there are taken to the charity shop might not be a terribly wise move! ;)

That's the answer, empty her wardrobe and move your gear in and place her clothes under the table.

Get a good sized table cloth, not too expensive and everyone wins.

No you're incorrect, its that I wear the trousers

If your Mrs is reading this you might find what's in them cut off one day :D

I married the Mrs last August so we're still at a nice stage :D and I can't mention gear without her offering to buy it for me :D

:ROFLMAO:

And you have your partner's permission to do so? ;)
I know there's a lot of downtrodden men on photography sites, but I aint one of them

Joking apart it does seem a strange place to keep ones gear, unless of course its a drop leaf table which hides everything?

I totally agree under the table is a silly place to keep your gear - on top of it is far more sensible!

Perhaps a photo to show us what it looks like (under the table) and we can see if we should sympathise with you or her...

Perhaps a trip to Ikea (and buy a cupboard or two) would placate her ... a Billy bookshelf with solid doors on the bottom perhaps?
