Been looking at getting either a Canon 1Dx or Nikon D4 for quite a while now.
I have just seen DR have the D4 at £4099. That's one hell of a saving on UK prices!

Just wondering if it's too much of a risk for such a high value item? I know DR have good feedback so it's not so much the risk with the company that I'm bothered about it's more the warranty issues, VAT and suchlike.

Anyone else ordered very high value items from them?

I ordered a 10-20mm sigma for £300. Something like £460 in UK stores. They attempted to deliver today but I wasn't in. I ordered it Monday so its only taken a few days to get here. I was a bit "urghhh, do I order from Hong Kong" but its a very high reputable company and I know for sure a few members from here use them.

It also states clearly on there website that all import tax is covered by them :)

I had 'issues' at first with the credit card I was trying to use.

When I paid by Paypal I could not believe the speed of the service. Process, pack and despatch and then delivery to the UK in under 2 days. The price was pretty good too.

Happy with DR, less happy with the photos I take

Dem.

Yea I'm also looking at the D4 - cheapest Uk seems to be £4899 at Mifsuds. Scared to order from Dig Rev and also have to get rid of D3s - maybe try to sell here. merv:bonk:

Yeah it's a lot of money so worries are justified I reckon. ;)
I could be interested in your D3s if you want to pm me some details when/if you are going to put it up for sale.

Blimey Andy - after your last thread I figured you would already have made your move.

Joking aside you seem to deliberate so much - which I can't really blame you for as I'm the same albeit on a smaller scale.

Whenever I read your threads (previous kit etc) I'm amused by your sig - Camera - Does it matter ?

I think you're a fellow troubled soul LOL

Troubled soul I certainly am. Every time I think I have made my choice some new issue arises. I was dead set on a 1Dx until the error80 issue reared it's head. Before the D4 hit the shops I very nearly ordered on at the Focus show, then I read about the soft video mode. Both seems to have niggling issues. :bonk:

I appreciate this thread is about Digital Rev but you do know your dilemma will never end.

I bet you were swithering over models a few years ago that you wouldn't consider now ?

You've had top of the range cameras before - If I was in your shoes I'd just make a move safe in the Knowledge that either would enable me to achieve the best I can right now.

I think you are right Phil. Both cameras are bound to be excellent. Maybe I should just stop deliberating and slap down the cash then get out and shoot some photos rather than reading and re-reading spec lists and reviews of D4s and 1Dxs.

Agreed - I'd just get out there and shoot :thumbs

Andy, by any chance that you have placed the order, please do let me know the order number and I can arrange priority handling for you. ;)

I used them for my 5D3 and can only say my experience was better and quicker than most UK suppliers i've dealt with, and i'm also looking into a 1DX and wouldn't hesitate to use them again (I'm also waiting for the Err80 issue to be completely resolved).

I haven't needed to test the warranty side out yet though, and hopefully won't need to.

Would totally agree - the service from DigitalRev was excellent - no issues at all, all turned up perfectly including UK manual and UK plug.

What is priority handling?

I'm looking to buy a 7d from digital rev. Its slightly cheaper on their eBay outlet but a couple of people on their feedback state that they have had to pay some import tax - is that why its cheaper through ebay?

Thanks all

I didn't get a manual with my D7000 :(

For UK customers, the prices listed on website are all inclusive. The priority handling refers to a prioritize in processing your orders as forum members.

The outlet prices may not include the import handling charges, so you'll have to pay the amount upon arrival to you, which the total price may come out a bit higher than our website. Therefore, I would recommend you purchasing directly from our website store.
