Hey folks,

I placed an order online this morning at Digitalrev, Now I payed using my card and everything went smooth.

Order was accepted, then a few hours later I checked again and it was cancelled. There was no reason given for this and no email received. The funds have been removed from my bank and not returned.

I have called them and unfortunately they are only open at crazy times 1am GMT which I understand. But I have submitted a ticket and am still waiting on a reply.

Anyone else had this trouble?

You signed up just to ask that?

Yes, I have been a lurker on this forum for along time and this is the first time I have needed some help from fellow shoppers.

Was it a credit card or a debit card?

Have the funds actually debited or has an authorisation been raised? Big difference

When I check online the funds have been removed from my account. They show as Point of Sale. (POS)

I'd give them 24hrs to reply before getting worked up. I had a credit card pull the plug because a company was flagged on their system. It got sorted.

Just hang in there they are pretty busy.

As for leeching loads do it but now you popped your head up get involved its very rewarding.

Big mistake paying via debit card but you'll know that now and probably won't do it again.

I have never dealt with them but I don't think anyone on here has had any similar issues, If you think there is a problem phone your bank and ask them for advice.

I presume it was deffo DR's website and not some Nigerian scam site?

Oh it was through there website I know that. I will wait until they have their call centre open and give them a ring.

Banks will honour credit cards if frauaulently abused but not debit cards.

Ah I see. Does any staff from DR ever post here? Just curious.

Thanks for the information tho guys.

Many of the banks do offer protection now on debit cards, but don't publicise it much. You have to ask.

I would not worry too much, DR will be back in overnight on Sunday I'm sure it will be sorted there CS is pretty good

I have used them before and cancelled the order and reported them to the bank.

Very poor company to deal with and are on my blacklist of companies i never deal with.

Bunch of frauds they are!

If you are referring to Digital Rev I'm sure you are in a very small minority.

I got a message back from them, which I might add was 2 days later. But apparently they had trouble getting in contact with me via the telephone. Not sure how this was possible because my numbers both of them were correct. I even added the numbers for international dial tones.

This was in the email which I was pleased to hear. But I spoke with them and gave my feedback that perhaps they should give people this information quicker.

Anyways, this was the reply.

Your money has not been billed as we do not check out your payment until we ship out your parcel, as this was a Pre-Auth transaction via the gatekeeper GlobalCollect. The amount of £**** should be unlocked back into your account within 3-5 working days of the cancellation.

Thanks everyone for the replies and just to add, I have my paypal setup now for large amounts so my purchase will be done via that.

If you have a credit card I would use that direct for any substantial purchases as you have much more protection with that than with Paypal, even if you fund your Paypal with a credit card.

Also Bank Transfer and Paypal Gift offer you NO protection should anything go amiss!

Thanks Heather, I have had been asked on small purchases to send via a gift and knew this was dodgy so stepped away. Sadly tho I do not use credit cards, but I had a meeting with the bank I have taken out protection with them at a small fee.
