Digital Rev VAT content?

No - VAT will be applied when it is imported, which you will be able to claim back

Unless the item you buy from them specifically says NO VAT/DUTY on this item. I purchased a lens that specifically said this on the auction and that they would refund if charged. When I got charged it was quite a quick process to claim the cash back from them. I may have just been lucky but they did refund me the relevant amount.

If you buy direct from their web site then the prices include VAT. If you buy from their ebay site then you have to pay the VAT and import duty on receipt.

Same here... I was refunded within 24hrs

Curious ... their website gives two prices for everything - a PRICE and an "excl" price.

One is the same as t'other less 15%.

If they do include VAT they're very good ....

I also did this, quick and painless.

Not really.

For example, I compared the VAT-inclusive prices on the first page of Canon lenses at DR with the prices at Jacobs (using the discount codes available at Camera Price Buster). The results are interesting:
  • Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L USM - DR £497 + delivery, Jacobs £464 delivered
  • Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM - DR £345 + delivery, Jacobs £314 delivered
  • Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM - DR £1272 + delivery, Jacobs £1171 delivered
  • Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM - DR £852 + delvery, Jacobs £760 delivered
  • Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM - DR £1069 + delivery, Jacobs £943 delivered
  • Canon EF 300mm f/2.8 L IS USM - DR £3309 + delivery, Jacobs £2804 delivered

On average, for these items DR are more than 10% more expensive than Jacobs, plus you have to pay for delivery from HK. That's what I call a no-brainer.
