Yes
I'm thinking of getting one of these for the crinklies xmas pressie, but I've no clue which is good/bad/indifferent..
So I thought I'd ask here.

I'm thinking about the £60 mark, but that's not critical (< £100 ideally).

Should have a flash card slot so I can send new photies of the sprogs to them on a regular basis (cycle the cards).

Doesnt want/need any sound or remote control, just a frame that does a good job of displaying the photies.

Anyone got any recomendations (or avoids)?

I'd be interested to know as well, the market for these seems to be changing rapidly with new choices almost every week...

Will they be able to sort out their own pictures / update memory cards etc? Or will you be doing this?

I assume you want one as simple as possible to use - some on the market these days have a lot of features, over and above the items purpose IMO!

Simple as possible. No knobs (maybe contrast/brightness), just a power supply and a card slot.

bump ... any advice please

I have a 7" Kodak one, it's alright but it can be a bit bright sometimes (even turned down to minimum). I would also suggest going for one with a higher resolution if possible. :)

If you are going to be the one that puts things on the card I wold suggest quickly resizing the images to the resolution of the photo frame. I did that for mine and using an old 16MB XD card I can fit around 300 images on it.

It's pretty low resolution according to the reviews (all good btw), personally I'd avoid anything that didn't quote the res up front.

Yeah seems to be 400px wide that one, which seems to be good for that price, but when you bear in mind a 7" monitor seems to be about 6x4 (ish) its had got to look pretty pixelated :( Looking for one of these for a chrimbo present, so many out there and they all seem to be low res! (unless you pay like £150 for 800px wide)

hmm though just testing a 400x267 at 6x4" @ 72dpi it aint too far off.

My kodak one is the same (as well as most 7" ones). It is a little on the low side but if you are more than a couple of feet away it isn't too bad. Higher res would be better if you can find it though.

I know rwotton (Rob) has got a really nice one which I saw last weekend and I was very impressed with it. Unfortunately we were a good way through a bottle of single malt by the time he told me what make it was so I have no idea but maybe you could PM him.

Thanks for the info guys.
I'll start a bit of research as to the resolution/price.
If anyone has any more info then please post
