_IMG0937 by Stephen Taylor, on Flickr@todders - glad to see you joined the world of MF digital. I recall chats re this on the D800 thread.
How are you finding the 645d. It looks like you and it are getting on well. Your upgrade path is very similar to mine from high res 36mp Nikon to Pentax DSLR MF.
They're something else - such a feel good camera to use in the field, always love using mine and the layout of them is incredible. Lens wise not used the 55 but thrilled with the albiet large and expensive 28-45 and the 45-85 and 80-160 zooms perform well, and cheaply too if you go on eBay etc.
Hi Steve
Yes I do remember the discussion I went back and forwards looking at the fuji butwhen a mint copy of the 645d came up so went with that. I have been having a real problem hand holding the camera and getting sharp shots. If I zoom into anything it looks quite soft. I have tried the normal fine tuning but it doesn't male much difference if I'm honest.
I think I will be using my tripod more often than not as iam not getting any younger.
I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and for remembering our conversation.
Thanks
Adrian
They are heavy - and probably you need to do the 1/focal length style shutter speed to get sharp handheld shots.
Other than the need to stop down a little more I find I just use it like a normal DSLR. Except with insane IQ.
I think you are right I was using the lens at f2.8 the shutter speeds were more than high enough though. But as ever it will take me a while to get used to it. Thanks for the advice.
I think you are right with the Dof, I will keep shooting with it and Iam sure i will improve. The rendering is something special though i would agree it certainly has that fairy dust I have been looking for.Your issue with sharpness might be DoF. F2.8 on these is wafer thin.
I rather like the debate at speakers corner, it has a timeless rendering to it. On a tripod these will produce images with an IQ, colour depth and feeling that a FF user can only dream of.

Forgive the odd composition but it was to frame the big sky.
And a little snap from Glencoe

Very nice Steve, I find the 2nd one particulary appealing. The light/shadow gives it a real three dimensional quality. This is the first one of your images with the new setup I've seen where I've thought the kit has made a really big difference to the end result![]()

Grey sellers may come to the rescue, or if you are in the USA on holiday just pop into B&H or Andorama and pay nice low US prices
