Yes
nyone else have problems with the digital conections (DVI, DIsplayport)? There must be something about me as they seem to hate me....

You may remember me from threads a couple of months ago about how my new computer wouldn't work through DVI, neither did my old computer... I thought it was just my monitor, however I got a new monitor and exactly the same thing happens... Sometimes it works, sometimes it just shows a black screen (but still sending information as the monitor isn't sleeping). As soon as I plug in a D-SUB or VGA cable it works absolutely fine... WTF!?

Yes I'm getting a little annoyed now... Is it just me or are digital connections just temperamental? I can't be the only one that has this problem (although looking at google I seem to be one of a special very few that have ever had this problem...

Never hadn't single problem with digital, you've swapped the PC, the cable and the monitor so the only thing left to swap is you ;)

What OS are you running and what graphics card?

Exactly.

I lie a little in the other post actually because I use a third computer that doesn't work with either monitor either (or only works intermittently...)

So that is 3 computers, running windows 7 and 8.

One used a dedicated Nvidia 6800GT on a 1680x1050 monitor
The others run Intel 3000 integrated graphics and wont work on either monitor running a DVI cable (but works fine over VGA)
The third running from Intel 4000 integrated graphics over displayport at 2560x1440 or DVI at 1920x1080 but displays perfectly fine at 2010x1600 over VGA (the max resolution D-Sub can support).

Seriously I am now starting to thing **** it, and send this monitor back and get a 24" 1920x1200 monitor and run it over D-Sub, even if the picture quality is worse (always seem to get a little ghosting with it)...

The annoying thing is it was working when I first got it, stopped working for a little while, started working again for a few days and now stopped working again. Normally I would say it was an issue with the monitor but as I have past experiences with problems like this I don't think it is... The only "solution" I have found in months of searching on an off is the possibility of a short, so have even tried running monitor and computer off separate ring mains (sounds ridiculous but that is how far I am through solutions to this problem...)

I'm going to plug my Macbook into it as well and see if that works...

Right, it appears to work via thunderbolt to DVI (Single channel) at a resolution of 1920x1080 using OSX lion. Now to try exactly the same port on the monitor, and the same cable with my two windows computers (one running windows 7 and the other 8...

EDIT: And using exactly the same cable and port on the back of the monitor it doesn't work with my windows 8 machine... Now to try the windows 7 machine...

What monitors?

Wouldn't be something as simple as your cable?

A Dell U2713.

I've got it working again, for the moment anyway... I think resetting the CMOS several times on the computer made it work again... hopefully... I did underclock my computer slightly so maybe that has has caused some of the problem, however that wouldn't solve all the other ones... I assume maybe Digital connections are more sensitive to over/underclocks?

Thanks for all the replies... Hopefully I won't be opening this thread again in the near future... Just needed to vent more than anything!
