Digital camera magazine offer

I have not received the tripod either.

Have we been scammed??
 
Nor me. My money doesn't go out until the 13th of feb thpugh
 
I've recieved an email saying my magazine would be here on 28th feb but I thought I'd have recieved one in January .
I've emailed and will have to see what they say, will update thread once I have a reply.
 
I'm sure they will turn up, unless there's some small print somewhere?
 
Can take upto 28 days for the free gift to arrive - sometimes they wait til the money has been paid, other times the free gift can arrive before the 1st mag...
 
Signed up on the 14th Jan with first issue due 12th Feb. No money taken on the Direct Debit yet and it does say in my welcome email to give it 28 days for any free gift to be delivered.
 
I have signed up for 3 of these subscription things with camera mags and never recieved any of the items in the offer.
 
According to the lady there was no free tripod on offer?
Just 3 magazines for £1 ?
So I'm not very happy atall!
 
Still 3 mags for a £1 even if you just chuck then on the fire

Normally the free gift offer is when they are 5 for £5.

I've never had a free gift on the 3 for £1 offer

Did you subscribe to the right offer ?

The initial post was 3 for £3 and if you click the link it does say a free tripod ....

Yup my mag also turned up to day & flicking through it I don't think its up to much..
some news in there like jessops closing down is now old news..
I still think you can find out more from off the internet than you can within a mag & quicker
 
Mag arrived today and as stated its not brilliant, £3 for some reading material is fair enough but I wouldn't subscribe to it at full price. Let's hope the tripod turns up.
I think in this day and age any printed mag has a lot to live up to when you can go online and find just about everything you need for free.

to be honest I wont be keeping the subscription on either way, ive had another quick flick trough the mag & there's nothing in there that I cant find for nothing on the net..

just full of adverts..

Should be the initial subscription payment - so should be £3
 
Received the magazine Friday but no tripod to date

I also emailed them regarding the tripod and was told my free gift - tripod had been dispatched. I noticed on my notice of acceptance from the publisher that my 1st payment will be taken on the 12th. I will give them this week then send another email.

Same here, received the first mag but no tripod yet. I have subscribed to this mag in the past and it got a bit repetitive all the articles over the 6 months I paid for it. I wont be keeping this subscription going after the first payment.

Hopefully everyone will get their gifts soon.

Tripod arrived. Time to cancel the direct debit :)
 
Mine also turned up today & like others have said I wouldn't put my camera anywhere near it.. only thing its good for is a cheap point n shoot as I wouldn't trust it with anything else but that..
 
Got mine today as well, and agree, about only using P&S on it.
 
Tripod arrived yesterday so pleased. Don't think much of the magazine so time to cancel the direct debit!
 
I debated going for this but got put off that you couldn't opt out of the marketing stuff until after you sign up. Does anyone know how easy the opt out is? Does it need a phone call or letter? -Thanks
 
does anyone know how you go about cancelling this.? do you just stop your DD im sure I saw somewhere you have also to tell them you no longer want it..?

Yes just cancel your DD once the initial £3 payment has gone out.

You should also let them know you've cancelled the DD and do not wish to continue, but plenty probably don't.

Still not received my tripod... However the second issue dropped through the door today. I'm sure one of the writers must be on here as they have a special on ways to photograph pencils... Very similar to another thread (100 ways to photograph pencils) in the crit section that was completed earlier this year. Or I might be being a little critical and coloured pencils is an obvious subject to photo?
