I don't think that there is any diffuser available specifically for the MR14 ring flash. I find the ring highlights quite unpleasant on macro / insect photography and so I was wondering what I could do.

Could I cut out some white paper and stick it on the flash? Or would it damage the flash in some way? Or could I get some thin perspex or acrylic and do the same? Does there need to be a space infront of the actual flash unit?

43 looks and no reply - I hope that the deafening silence means that it's OK to put something up against the flash and that everyone thought it was a stupid question

I suppose you treat it like any other flash . I'm not sure how hot they get , you could end up melting filter onto the flash if it does . Why not contact canon and see what they say to be sure .
