Different views for different sites?

I'd say theres more lens threads. We even have a whole forum devoted to it :p Its all just different sides of photography. The whole point of this thread is that different people like different things.

I did try another forum before I found this one and I felt like I was banging my head off a brick wall. I'd get comments on a studio shot along the lines of "I've never done this before and I haven't got a clue what I'm talking about but....." So why do you feel the need to comment since you obviously don't know the first thing about it then? arrrrghhhh:bang:

The thing I value here above else is that you end up with a well balanced response. Yes, you need thick skin sometimes but then if you ask for help there is usually a queue waiting to help.

And some of the photography is just stunning!

I think I've just woken up in the twilight zone. Read my original post, perhaps I am paraphrasing now but that's exactly the point I was making...

Yes but the way you were having a go at someone for not liking the constant (and they are) lens threads when you yourself were annoyed with the constant HDR threads just seemed a little silly. </imho>

Having a go - Far from it.
I was trying to balance the thread. How is that having a go ? Not sure you have read my comments properly Pete, or indeed any of my other comments I make.... Couldn't be further from the truth.

shaping up nicely as a two bag thread.

Im guilty of that, I always give advice but admit that I probably havent a clue about the proper way to do something. No harm in *trying* to help though :)

Gary.

Im guilty of that

I have no problems at all with "disclaimed" opinions. It's when people roll up and preach this that and the other as the gospel but they're way off the mark it gets very counter productive.

Not at all Gary, but you also take some rather cracking pics if I may say so. This person was just unbelievably clueless!

I understand, I would probably get a little miffed if someone started preaching C# to me, even though they only new HTML I suppose. Extreme example and unlikely, but I can relate to your feeelings.
