I noticed this morning that the jacket on the lady in this photo is slightly brighter when exported at full size compared with one at 2048 pixels on the long edge (for web upload) and I can't figure out why. Settings (screen sharpness etc) are all the same, the only difference is the resolution. I've never noticed this before in my images so does anyone know why it would be with this one please?

I'm not sure it will show on here, but this is the two images side by side

I just about see the difference on my work monitor but no idea how this is happening.

Have you Googled Toby to see if others have raised this?

It may be my monitor but the panelling and jacket on the right are slightly brighter but the lady's face appears slightly less bright & softer too.

I did, but the only thing that came up was google's AI. It offered a reasonable explanation but how reliable this is I don't know. It just said it's due to scaling algorithms of the software.

Maybe it's just me but they look different colours too on my monitor, the left one looks slightly more magenta maybe?

Sorry it's nearly Friday.

And next weekend we site our caravan on a site in Anglesey for the summer.

So I'm relatively happy.
