I don't get it....... Why Canon has launched yet another entry-level camera????
What is the defference between the
EOS 400D
EOS 450D and the new
EOS 1000D

The 400D is now being discontinued....the 450D is an upgrade, but it's got a few new features that make it an upgrade and an improvement, and hence is a bit more expensive. The 1000D takes aspects of the 450D but has a few less features to make it cheaper, there's a comparison on dpreview somewhere! In reality most people just think Canon had a few spare parts lying around and see what they could make of it!

But there is method in the madness. As soon as someone buys a Canon DSLR they will (usually) also be buying a Canon lens. The Canon lens will only fit a Canon SLR, so in a few years time they will buy the 40D or the 5D (or an equivalent). It gets people into the system. Also, the 450D is a very advanced camera - entry level should arguably be simpler.

I suppose, once they get you....
