I'm wanting to design a CD case (the front insert and rear slip) and was hoping someone could give me the sizes I need to set CS3 to to get the correct aspect ratio, size not an issue as they're just to show the rest of my band first. Hope someone can help :)

The first two results on this site should give you something to work with. Or there's the second set of templates on here that might be a little more flexible in their usage.

It really depends on the place doing the printing and what they require you to provide in terms of the finished design with regards to print area, cut lines, bleed, colour palette, etc.

I'll be doing the printing myself as we'll not be running many CDs off, a mate of mine is handling the discs (with his trusty lightscribe) and I said I'd do the covers as we'll be using some of my images anyway. I'll check those templates out and give them a bash :) Thanks for the help

In that case I wish you the very best of luck. If you were doing anything approaching a decent run I'd strongly advice you to contact a professional printing company but you might be okay with a short run.

Although there's always the chance that once you've found/created the right template, sourced the right thickness of card, found yourself a printer that will do double-sided with ease, found something or someone to cut them out and scored the creases you'll wonder why you ever bothered!

Will you be up for showing off your finished design once it's ready to print? Would be very interested to see what you come up with as I've found designing CD inserts to be something of an experience in the past.

it is so much easier to just do a dvd type case, rather then a jewel case
