Depth of Field, Circles of Confusion and Sensor Size.

In answer to the last post, let us go for a walk into the country. I have my 2 cameras with me,a 5d and a 10d. and just one lens a 50mm prime lens. I see a bull in a field and decide to take a couple of shots of it. One from each camera. Without moving, the bull will be the same size on both sensors but the 5d will show more grass in front of and behind the bull. now let us do a print from both sensors. as already stated the small sensor will be enlarged more, making the bull look bigger, also enlarging the C of C giving the effect of less DOF.

Ah that makes sense to me Oldfella ...It just looks like there’s less in a side by side, same size subject, photo comparison right. But if you could actually measure the front to back dof range within, it would be the same in both shots
