Recently bought a car, Seat Ibiza, 2011 as a run around and also for the 'commute' to Glencoe etc. I knew it had a dent in the passenger door when I bought it. I got a couple of hundred pounds knocked off for it. I'm not too bothered by it but I wouldn't mind getting rid if I can. It looks like a carpark ding, the paint is scratched but not badly broken.
I'd planned to get it professionally fixed, expecting it to come about £180. When I got the quote though, the body shop said because of the colour (yellow), they'd have to spray the whole side as it's difficult to match up. I don't know anything about matching colours up, so fair enough but I almost fell over, although tried to keep smiling when he quoted me £400. That might seem a fair price for a side respray, again fair enough, but the ding is barely the size of a 10p, so the £400 will be staying in my bank.
Given the age of the car and it isn't our main car, I'm happy to try a dent removal myself. There are paintless dent removal companies I know but for what it is, I'm happy to have a go with one of these........
For £15, it must be worth a try and if it doesn't work, then at least I have a glue gun, which will come in handy for other things. I've watched a few YT videos now of similar products and it seems straightforward. I know it might just end up being useless but nothing to lose really, at worst, it won't work, at best it will look better than it does.
Anybody ever tried one, or similar, or can recommend something please?
I'm being realistic, I'm not expecting miracles but an improvement would be good.
TIA.
