weekly Delta Skies 2012 52 Week Challenge - Week 52 "Busy" added

s'ok Peter, just that this was the 2nd one where I'd left a comment and been missed  I was just feelin' a bit invisible :P

My dad doesn't have the internet anymore, he used to use his laptop for gaming but his health and eyesight have gone downhill so much that he doesn't bother any more. Now he is devoted to watching Agatha Christie stuff on TV

Oh gosh Summer. I didn't realise I'd been missing people out. Sorry. I always appreciate feedback so it wasn't done on purpose.

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. My offer was for a print rather than a jpg. I'd be more than happy if it was something he would like to put on his wall. If he likes Agatha Christie you could always say it was the Orient Express.

don't be daft I understand that the smart phones aren't that good at showing websites, I can always tell when folk are looking at the forum on their mobiles (mine ain't that posh!). The other thread though has no excuse as I was one of only 3 replies. He said thanks to the other 2 peeps but not me *shrug* - and I even said nice things

that's very kind of you re. the print. I will PM you my address, but I want to reimburse you for it - your first sale, yay

oh you drive a hard bargain - make sure you watermark it (or sign it lol) :)

Great work Peter, the image has depth and movement to it.
I think the subject would really suit a B&W conversion, to really take it back in time to the steam age. Well done. Iain

Beautiful image Peter...no crit at all , lovely lovely lovely :clap:

Agree with Iains comments re B&W conversion as well

Hi Peter, lovely shot:clap: The train looks like it's driving out the shot and really adds depth. I like all the countryside on the LHS, it's nice to see greenery with nothing modern sticking up & ruining it!

Thanks Marsha, Iain and Lynne.

I know what you mean about a B&W conversion. Maybe if taken at a different time of year but i was completely sold on the autumn colours.

Hi, Peter, always good to get in early, and such a relief not to spend the week walking around looking everywhere for ideas to fit the theme.

Fits the the theme well here. Nice angle to the plate and nice WB. Looks yummy.

Crit.....nothing really. I'd did thinks what a fork would look in the frame but on reflection feel it would clutter it.

Cheers.

ugh the thought of eating that! yuk

but

brilliant image  could easily see this in an advertising shot :)

Thanks Andy. The other thing about adding something silvery like a fork is controlling the lighting and reflections so I went for the simple approach.

I like it but no butter? thats my only crit ;)
Thanks Allan. I also got told off for not having butter with the egg and soldiers

Cheers Summer. Yuk? - It actually tasted quite nice although it was Cadbury's chocolate spread rather than the cheap or nutty stuff.

Oooooo them crumpets look superb Peter

Great lighting as usual (But I will keep saying it) The spread looks soooo smooth, and I really like the angle the plate is with each corner showing a glimpse of background
Thanks Dean. I originally took this shot on a bigger plate but felt there was too much white in the shot so resorted to this smaller plate hence the four corners in the picture.

Shhhhh don't you mean you planned it like this from the start

Spread - Can't fault your idea or shot. Needs butter though

Spread - Good shot Peter. Bang on theme

Good comp, colours and lighting - the plate is partic well lit - subdued but good contrast with the crumpets.

Good detail in the nutella, partic those 'bubbles' at the bottom where the choc is being forced back out.

But I am with those who think that butter is the proper accompaniment to crumpets. :)

 it's the crumpets I don't like, chocolate spread is fine with me :)

I am the opposite to Summer on the above

A good take on the theme Peter, one which you've handled the subject well. I think it would be all too easy to lose some detail when photographing darker objects against a shiny white background.
The composition works well here, the offset plate letting the table background come in at each corner is neat. The temptation I think may have been to square the plate to the frame but this works better to add some depth to the frame.

Thanks for the feedback Alan. Another vote for butter

More food for this week. How well do pie and peas go together?

I suppose I have to blame the years of going down to Central Park to watch Wigan for this week's entry. For those Southerners wondering what I'm going on about - Wigan Rugby League supporters are named "the Pie Eaters" due to the great culinary offerings at the ground

omg more food!! Don't you realise they don't do mushy peas in the south - this is so not fair  just plain mean I love mushy peas. I'll be in Wakefield tomorrow and I will be having pie and mushy peas at the hotel yum

but yeah lovely image. Stick it in Getty lol :-)

Really nicely exposed pic it would have to be pie and mash for the southern people i suppose, I thought all people from Wigan are called pie eaters.
