This might be useful to someone here.
At the moment, you can buy a Dell ST2220T touchscreen IPS monitor for £186.75, and get £80 cashback for your old monitor (can be an old CRT as long as it's working with cables) + £10 towards posting it back.
If you go through Quidco, you can get 10% extra cashback (on price exc. VAT).

This means you can get a nice 21.5" IPS touchscreen for under £100 (but with a bit of effort involved!) which is an absolute bargain.

Not for everyone, but it goes well next to my 27" 2560x1440 IPS monitor!

You can send a monitor in pretty cheap and get £4 cashback through Parcel2Go and quidco.

As I say, takes a fair amount of effort, so if you are limited on time this may not be for you.

Seen on Hot UK Deals.

Interesting, thankyou... but the price is showing as £207.50+vat to me...

Hmm, interesting, when I click the same link as I did earlier its now showing £186.75 to me as well.

...I think Dell's website is playing games with variable pricing and cookies

Wow, the same thing just happened to me!
Clicked on the link again, £186.75; refreshed, £207.50+vat; refreshed, £186.75

Holy crap that's really cheap?!

It is indeed very cheap! Cheapest IPS screen around I think? And it's touch!

There does seem to be a fair bit of a backlog due to very high demand, fortunately I got mine pretty quickly.
Bit of a tip though, email them asking about it, and you may get it sooner, as they seem to prioritise people's orders who complain, which does seem a bit wrong, but hey ho that's how they run it seems!
Mine was originally estimated for the 6th of June, then it suddenly jumped to the 30th of June (on the 2nd), I emailed them about it and a few hours later it was dispatched and I received it the next day on the 3rd of June!

Just been on to Dell to have a llok see and it has come up as £186.75 for me too. Definately a bargain, but would be nice to hear what people find in the flesh before ordering please.

From what I can see, you can only have either the 25% off deal or the trade-in, can't get it to accept both.

Nope, you can have both! The company recycling the monitors don't care how much you have paid for it, as long as you have purchased it, you are entitled to it. A fair few people phoned them up on hot uk deals and they said they don't care. It's allowing me to get it and I had an extra 10% as well as the 25% off (not able to do that any more though, if you apply the 10% discount code you lose the 25%).

just ordered mine well 2 actually for work :), plus have 2 old monitors, phoned up DELL to ask and you buy it then send your old one in and they give you the cash back :) sorted 2 touch screen monitors for £70 exvat :) can't get better then that :D.

Dropped Dell an email & asked if the could speed up delivery (PC is useless without monitor etc) and they've brought it forward 2 weeks

Seems a cracking price with the £80 cashback for old monitor.

Has anyone had any issues with the shiny surface of the screen...have read that it can give reflections in some circumstances?

This is a quite reflective screen, not the most reflective, but fairly reflective. If you have a window behind you or harsh lighting it might be an issue, but it isn't too bad.

Turned up today :)

Now just got to find some interactive pron sites

interested to hear reviews on this asap

Quick review !

Pro:-

Picture quality is excellent, nice & crisp with good colours (at least to my eyes), wide viewing angles and the ability to scroll/select by finger is cool

Con:-

Very glossy screen, could be a problem if you have a light source behind you, no way of wall mounting.

Not yet tried the sound yet but in all it's well worth the £108

Apparently you need some (expensive) software to make use of multitouch with mac, don't really know much else though as I avoid Macs as much as physically possible :D

Got mine today, **** :), plugged into work machine before taking home quick review.

Can't comment on picture quality as Its far better then my eyes can notice lol but the sensativity on the touchscreen is really good and it seems really accurate, you can do all sorts of gestures in windows 7 but the proof will be when i get it home and start fidling around in OSX.

I've heard you can get everything work just need to hunt for some free drivers and software will update when i've got something going but for less then £100 its a bargain.

How do you find the "glossy" screen....

I visited PC World yesterday to take a look at monitorss.....it seems that Macs mainly have glossy screens and quite a number of the PCs being sold at the higher end had glossy screens too....just a bit worried about staring at my reflection the whole time.

PS. Looking at Dell's website, I think that the special offer discount on the Monitor may expire on 22 June (recycle offer seems to be for longer duration). Have decided to order as difficult to better £100 for an IPS screen and touch!

Have just bought a pair for work too (and not for toy reasons, lot of software is designed around touch screens). Now to decide which of the antique monitors in the attic to send away!

Amg! Delivery 28th... Of july...?! I know I'm not in a rush, but really....hey ho, will chase when back off holiday...

you may find that changes rapidly - I ordered on 13/6 (thanks OP ) with an expected delivery of 22/7 - it was delivered on the 16/6!

 you're right...

We would like to update you about your delivery:

- Planned Delivery Date: 21/06/2011 (Check the UPS tracking link below - for an instant update anytime)

Just a slight change there then from 28/07...!

Ordered Friday 17 June delivered Tuesday 21 June!

Very pleased with screen. Good quality images and touch seems to work ok too.

Shiny surface ok so long as I keep window blinds closed and no worse that that on my laptop.

Now going for the refund on existing screen.

Glad to hear people have been receiving it earlier than stated

However, it is now back up to £249, so £169 after cashback, still not a bad price, but just not quite so good!

nice deal although 21" is a little small after having a 27 and a 24..

Having something like this as a 3rd monitor would be kind cool though.

3rd? wimp :p

(please exuse rubbishness of pic, don't know how to use the new flash yet...)

top row : 2x Dell Touchscreens
bottom row : 1x30 1x20 (2560x1600 + 1200x1600)

although I'm cheating and running that on two PC's for other reasons, I could run the lot off the main one.

Anyway, the touchscreens are glossy, but it doesn't cause an issue in reality even if it does look bad on that photo.

I also saved another £20 on the cashback - as the place to send your monitors to is in Staines, which is only down the road for me. As one was a huge old CRT, that saved a fortune!

Are you sure you've got enough monitors there flossie? :p

Just a heads up, it can take up to 21 days for them to acknowledge that they have received your old monitor.

Hmm, you're right, I better put the laptop to one side as well to give me some more display...:nuts::bonk:

The place I took it to looked like it was a general buisness recycling depot, so I guess the delay is because they bundle everything up and ship it off somewhere else so they can throw them down a mineshaft in africa properly dispose of, which would explain the 3 week delay

Thanks for the tip

Although this touch screen has gone up in price, I managed to get a 23inch HD screen for £149 and with a trade in of £60 = bargain at £89 :-)
