hi just in the process off gettting a monitor which do you think is best for hooking up to my acer laptop. dell 2209wa 22" or a nec multisync ea222wme they are about the same money any help would be great daz
 
Don't know about the NEC but recently got a 2209wa. it's a great monitor for the price and calibrates well.

The rotate to portrait mode is very useful.
 
does it matter what revision number it has like some dell mnotors?
 
the NEC is STUNNING, higher resolution, slightly larger...and not *desperately* more expensive.
 
I use a NEC Multisync LCD2470WNX at work. Brilliant! Don't know how much it cost though :S


Just checked and I don't think you can get these any more, old model, but it was around £500!!

Dell don't make monitors they buy them in and badge them so that's one of the reasons the model quality can change during it's lifetime. I have worked in the IT hardware channel for many years and I never had a problem with any NEC products, they are well built and they used to be comparatively expensive but you get a lot of monitor for not a lot of money these days.
 
IIR, Sony made quite a few Dell monitors. I have 2 on my desk!

True and Apple but not for around 5 years as they stopped making monitors completely due to the fact that there was no profit margin in them.
 
i'm also considering the dell as part of a new pc system
anyone got nay experience of the Dell U2311H - bit bigger,higher res,only bit more expensive and good reviews online
also is it worth an extra £100 buying this quality of monitor over the bog standard TN type screen
 
2408WFP gets my vote!(If you can afford it) Fantastic colour reproduction, great viewing angles, 4 port USB hub and a card reader! Love mine ^^
