Interesting. My purchase experience wasn't exactly 'ideal' either, but had assumed they usually did better than that.
 
I just could not understand the lady at all, then when mum gave her credit card details she screwed that up so mum had to phone her bank and sort that end out so after an hour on the phone it all went fine. I think it`s a shame that big companies use these call centres, but as long as the laptop arrives next week and works fine then that`s ok.
 
I think it's Poland these days. It used to be ROI, specifically Limerick, but Dell closed that factory a few years ago. The Limerick factory got a load of staff from Wang's factory there when that closed....
 
I used Dell's online ordering system in September and found it to be very straightforward.

Order placed on Thursday, the laptop arrived on Friday, so I suspect that they may have some UK stock.

After having the XPS 15 for a couple of months, I'm very pleased with it - especially the display.

I have a similar Dell laptop, it runs PS / Capture well enough, but the screen is sh*t, proper rubbish. Its OK for basic stuff, but you can't rely on it, its not just about calibration, its the viewing angles.
A huge percentage of PC laptops have poor screens, which is why so many people take the apple route for laptops.

As long as it is better than this Lenovo z50 then I will be happy, plus having a 17inch screen will be nice.

Hi Dave. I don't specifically know, although some googling suggests it may come from China via Belgium or Holland. Some people mentioned their tracking didn't work until 1 day before delivery.

Thank you Toni, I will just check the tracking everyday then.
 
It would be good to give them a call, but 13th is Tuesday, so it's only a couple more days before they've broken their promised delivery time.

I am going to phone them on Tuesday and see what`s up with it. As they don`t work on a weekend.

I totally love it, the screen is like Wow as never had a 17inch screen and it is like lightning fast now so thank you again for the great advice.
 
Well it`s taken me a while to do, but have managed to get my photos in the hard drive now and deleted off some crap that I don`t want at all ie: games and other stuff so I well chuffed with this laptop editing in Capture one and then Affinity is a dream as it is so damn quick.
