Hi all

There's been lots of interest and positive commentary on Adele's thread re her first Studio experience

She only posted a few examples here http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=43196 , but you can see them all here...

http://www.dg-photography.co.uk/portfolio25053.html

If anyone else fancies a go (and can supply their own subject!!!) give me a pm/email/call to discuss

PLEASE BE CLEAR HERE - I will be present and everything technical is sorted by me - you just need to shoot away to get images like Adele's

It's not that it's 'easy' - but if the technical stuff is right all you have to do is concentrate on taking the pics, and I'll instruct you on that too to give you a taster

Cheers

DD

i may be interested in this, is there any cost involved?

Showing interest from me , always up for learning new things.

:)

Del knows I have asked you to move the studio further down the M1 DD!

Given where you are it would have to be a days outing and i suppose i could bring my daughter as the 'willing' subject.

I have already hinted in another thread that I would like to do some studio work and as others have said its a very generous offer...atm its the distance that is my constraint on taking it up

Soz for being 'offline' guys - fell asleep watching the Fantastic4!

I know it's a long way off for some, so if you tell me where you are based I'll hire a room in a hotel that's local to you for the day and run it there for you free of charge too - okay?

Oops sorry, reality check - forget that!

Those too far away to make it for an hour or so to test the water in this sort of work - errr - tough  Perhaps I should have posted this as a 'Northerners Only' offer?

It's a small, basic studio in a not pretty area of Barnsley. The point is... if you can make it with such as this, you can make it in a garage, small unit you can hire and even (Yes) in a hotel every so often if you hire it for the day and have 3-4+ shoots booked - even better if you have a mate who's the hotel manager or who has a family too you can shoot for him/her! I know of one Pro who started this way very successfully!!!

Once you get enough 'gear' anyone, even Canon users (cough) can make it work

DD

DD how about putting it on a trailer and touring  seriously if i considered it practical to travel to you would I be able to hog for several hours on a sunday?

Attractive as an idea that is me ole Sheepy - errr no thanks :D:D:D

However, this, a few pm's and emails have thrown up this very point...

To do this 'properly' do you need a big studio???

Well as most kids are small... of course not

I know a chap who makes over £400 pwk on average from his garage, and I also know a Pro (an expensive one at that) who hired a hotel room once a month for years shooting 6-8 families a day - he made on average £200 per family and the room was £150 for the day - you do the maths!!!

A bit of decent gear, good use of such and with any marketing skills at all - you're OFF

soz i might have confused you with my witty response...the second part of the reply after the :) was a serious question about your fixed assets in barnsley

Simple setup, designed for shooting kids only - and the offer is an hour's use at most - prob too far for you m8 considering

Soz

No problem DD can understand where you coming from sure there will be others who will take up your generous offer  i will keep searching for a location closer to home.

Thanks

Good luck Sheep - and while you're on, why 'Sheep' - can't be that many around Croydon???

Oh DD its a long story going back years to the sheep encountered sleeping in the lanes of Devon whilst on holiday and has followed me to forums and also flickr since...and you will be surprised about how many sheep we have a short distance away living as I do on the southern 'edge' of Croydon. Maybe I will wander down our lanes and take some pictures for you :)

Hi all

Thanks for an amazing amount of interest in this offer - but to keep me sane, please now consider it closed

So if we haven't already discussed dates, if not actually fixed any up as yet, then you're too late this time

You can always pm me about hiring it/me instead, but that's advertising so I'll go no further to avoid breaching forum rules

Cheers & Happy New Year

DD
