I'm July I'll be doing a brief project/ job in Delhi and I'll have a couple of days spare to check out the sites. Does anybody have any experience travelling in Delhi or any tips on getting to see a lot in such a short space of time, two full days... such as seeing the taj mahal which is some way away but I believe doable within one day....???

Then of course you've got the Gate and the government buildings. Lots of things to see. Actually Delhi has changed tremendously since I was last there, skyscrapers etc. Lots of construction work, a very metropolitan city, but the outskirts and the usual sights are still stunning.

Have fun! Also remember Flickr is a great way to scope out places to visit.

Google Earth. Centre yourself on where you'll be staying/working and look at the blue squares to see if any of the posted photos give you any inspiration. Keep zooming out until you hit your comfortable walking distance in that climate. Not any interesting places on a street map. A guide book to the city will also probably have loads of pics in it to give you an idea as to what's around and a Google Image search will also throw up loads of potentially inspirational pics.
