Or are on the way up to the toilet and you see the pot plant at the top of the stairs needs watering, so you go down again to get a jug of water but then your wife says 'dinners ready' which takes precedence over everything else.
Believe me I really have been there, done that, but forgot to pick up the T Shirt! I once needed something out of my office and gone upstairs and then forgotten what it was when I reached the top! It wasn't until 10 ins later I remembered. Back upstairs again. Good exercise though!
