Just a few words of caution guys. A friend of mine visited Bushy with his daughter and she got this footage of a guy that got a little too close. It's been on the national news so you may have seen it but this serves as a reminder of what can happen.
I follow the rut here on the Quantocks where, for the want of a better description, 'true' wild reds will turn and run when approached. This doesn't appear to be the case with 'park' deer where their fear of humans seems to be much less.

Even with the above in mind I nearly pmsl when I watched it!

True reds dont always turn and run--just belive me as im talking from experience....Last year on Uist i was a good 70 meters away from the stag but his hinds alerted him. He couldnt see me but was starting to get closer so i stood up thinking that once he sees im human then he will be off but nope he run at me. Ended up with me diving over a fence with him in full motion running for me---just one stage sounded like a full heard of elephants...Back to Uist at the weekend for more of the same....:cuckoo:

My pal and I spent quite some time chatting to Lisa and her Dad. We first met them at about 8 am and had a long chat and then met up with them shortly after the incident.
I've been wondering whether she got anything out of it or if it was another media stitch-up.
Was that you in the car park later talking to her Dad?

Nope I know her Dad (Mike) from the Quantocks. I've not been to any of the parks yet. I prefer the hills out the way of everyone lol.

Wild animals - treat them with the utmost respect. It is a no - brainer.

You only have to go to Bushy Park on a sunny Sunday to see people doing the most stupidly outrageous things.
The fallow deer being quite small are seen as akin to pets, I've seen people trying to put toddlers on their backs for a "ride".
When I've intervened I've been told that they are tame, the park wouldn't allow wild animals!

Living in the New Forest for 30 years you see some equally daft things involving the ponies..

Kids playing with foals nearly getting a hoof in the face from mum being the most popular.

We had a celebrated case here in Kent.

Bloke goes for walk with family, bloke sees snake.
Bloke picks up snake. Snake turns out to be adder. Adder is peeved at being picked up and tags bloke. Bloke turns out to be moron and tries to sue council as there were no signs telling him the park might contain venomous snakes.
