Yes
NOT!

After a couple of days of toothache, I managed to get an appointment for this afternoon. Expecting a course of antibiotics, it was a bit of a shock to discover that the tooth and the one next to it had to come out. Not only that but several others have to be pulled out next year as well.

Like I said,deep joy!

Aye, yeh better keep that cat stuck to yer face then:D

She certainly doesn't detract from my looks! Ibuprofen taking the edge off the pain and it's not as bad as the toothache was, so I think it was the right thing to have done. Not fun but neither are tattoos... Worst thing is that we were planning a nice roast lunch tomorrow but I'm not sure I'll be able to wear my teef. At least the rest of the extractions will be after commercialmas. "All I want for Christmas is a new set of teef!"

Hope you are feeling better, Nod.

Don't understand folks who put off going the dentist when it is necessary. Whatever the discomfort in the dentist's chair is, IMO, absolutely NOTHING, compared to toothache.

Full force Gout, is way worse any day!!

First motion after a haemorrhoidectomy isn't much fun either! Oh, childbirth and kidney/bladder stones aren't supposed to be a picnic either (at least I should be spared the former though!!!)

Dunno about the others but I've had both toothache and Gout and a full bout of Gout wins hands down in the pain stakes every time. It's looked upon as a bit of a comical condition but if you get it proper it's no laughing matter.

Not good I used to be proper scared of the dentist, and added up with loosing a number of teeth in the end and spending a total of about 24hours in the dentist chair over a few months at the Birmingham dental hospital :(

Despite my dentist being quite a decent bloke I hate him on principle
Yes I know... there's something really odd there?

I hate the dentist, I would go weeks in pain sleepless nights and numerous bottles of painkillers to avoid them. Strange thing is that when I eventually do go its generally a fairly painless experience.

Probably true, but fear of the dentist is well known and far more common than fear of doctors. I think mine is due to an experience, which I can only vaguely remember, with a particularly brutal 'school dentist' when I was a kid. I know my old man cancelled the rest of the course of treatment after that and took me to a private dentist, but I think the damage was done and the prospect of going to the dentist still makes me uncomfortable.

Exactly the same for me, but I've conquered that fear over the past year or so. I still dislike going, sit there shaking when I do go but at least I now go... Something I didn't do for around 25 years or so!
