Yes
I'm after a carry everywhere camera that fits i a pocket to take snaps with of people and landscapes ect when we are out and about
At the moment we use our phone which is ok but after something with better image quality especially in low light
Doesn't have to have an changeable lens or even a zoom just a similar field of view to the phone camera
Not worried about a viewfinder and it has to be easy to use
Max budget of £200 and I don't mind second hand
I'm hoping to find something with a reasonable sized sensor too if that can be done in budget ideally with similar image quality to my 7D if that's possible
I have looked into this a few times but just end up confused to be honest as there's so much choice

If that is a main concern, I'd certainly check out anything with the Canon HS system.

I know its not what you want per se, but I was more than impressed with the feature on my SX520 HS
Obviously its not as good as my 7D with the 70-200 lens, but its more than acceptable for web sized image.

I'd agree with Brazo, the Rx100 Mk1 is a fantastic camera..

Thanks Mark and Tokof I didn't realise that I could get something like that for my budget that's brilliant think that's what I'll go for
Just had a quick look at a review apparently the IQ is really good

Unfortunately the RX100 at LCE for £170 has gone but I noticed that sony do refurbished ones for 220 (tho are out of stock at the moment ) also sony UK are doing a £30 cash back at the moment so I'm looking at new ones too
Wex has a second hand one for 220 but for that price I will probably wait a bit and get a new one
Thanks guys :)

I bought the RX100 iii this week and its a great wee camera, so you won't go far wrong with the mk1.

You can get a new mk1 RX100 (blindingly good IQ, for anything let alone a compact) for £240 after cashback.

Thanks Jim yes I think that I will get a Rx100 mk1
As you said may as well get a new one as the second hand ones aren't much cheaper
I've just convinced the missus that another camera is a good idea :D
I've not long bought the 7D mk2 :)

Thanks very much for the help everyone:)
I bought the RX100 yesterday from Currys with the cashback from Sony it wasn't worth getting a grey import as there was only £10 price difference
at least with the uk one I get a sony warranty
Anyway it's really easy to use am looking forward to using it properly next week :)

Fuji x20 excellent pocket camera or Iphone 6 ;)

Do you know what, I gave my iPhone 6 another chance to take a decent photo the other day, then imported it into LR. Always it disappoints. A lovely moody cloudy sky wrecked by blocks of colour. The way it renders blue and red tones are tones awful. Same for the iPhone 5.

Shame, it would have been a good photo.

That's exactly why I wanted a small carry anywhere camera I was too often disappointed by pics taken on my mobile when viewed on a larger screen

Jessop's currently have the tiny Lumux GM1 with 12-32 kit lens for £250, which is an absolute steal.

Edit: missed your post about purchasing the Sony, apologies and enjoy.

Rx100 is a great camera I recently purchased the mk2 with the flip up screen.

Your timing was great as from 20th August you earn double cashback so £60
