Hey,

Ok I'm off to Vietnam for 5 weeks in Nov and need a camera bag.

Ive got a Lowepro 200AW Slingshot but i don't think this will be adequate as the equipment i will need to put in it (see below) and its only one strap so will be killing after a while.

I will need to fit in

For day to day

Canon 60D although this will be out of the bag probe 90% of the day
Sigma 17-70
Canon 70-300
Gorillapod SLR
Guide book
Bottle of water

The when I'm moving form place to place i will also want to carry my iPad in there too.

Any help and advice would be great :)

I recently got a "Lonsdale" shoulder bag which seem popular these days. I have put my 17" laptop in it but have used it to carry my gripped 550D with a 100-400L attached, a sigma 18-125 lens, 2x 500ml bottles and various other bits and bobs. I guess it depends on the size of your gorillapod as to whether it will fit. And it has a front pocket that will fit an iPad in as well. As its not a usual camera bag it stands less chance of attracting bag snatchers.

I used an F-stop Loka for five weeks in thailand. It is a stunning bag, a little pricey but you get what you pay for with F-stop bags

Have you got the full model name/number when I put 'F-stop Loka' in google it comes up with all sorts!

I got the lonsdale bag at my local "Sports Direct", but you can find them at lots of high street stores. If I remember correctly it was £15 where I got mine, but I've seen them ranging from about £13 to £19. Hope this helps.

Do you have a Budget?

My personal opinion,is get something with an all weather cover, I beleive Vietnam monsoon season is around now, i certainly wouldnt want my kit in a bag getting wet!

Maybe take a look at Lowepro Flipside 400 AW, tones of space for lenses/accesories, and the front pocket will take an ipad no problem! Ive got one and would swear by it!

I use a Lowepro Fastpack 250 when I'm travelling, will carry all your gear, has a laptop compartment and a section for your non photography items as well. Also has a bottle holder at the side and fast access panel so you don't have to take the bag off to get at your camera.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys out of this lot I think the Kata 467i will be the best overall, got to go full size back pack shopping tomorrow so see what's in the shops while I'm there. :)

I was in Vietnam 2 years ago, we were there for 3 weeks in December trekking from north to south so had to travel light, but I did have my Nikon D200 18-200Vr and Sigma 10-20 in a Lowepro AW75 bag.

highly recommend the lowepro runner 300 aw, plenty of room and looks like a normal bag so doesnt attract unwanted attention
