paedos and murderers yes
drug trafficking under duress NO
yes and i believe there are circumstances that should be accounted for, but in my eyes they are not Murderers just someone who flipped,Hmmm...You don't think that someone, sometime, has killed another person under duress?
They are making an example out of her and send a clear message. Something the UK should try now and then.
If she really was forced into it then I feel a little sorry for her, but if its cock and bull then 'dems da rules.
I hate it when politicians get involved in cases like this.
exactly - it sounds like a cock and bull story - she was forced into drug trafficking into bali after a disagreement over rent money she paid for her son in england, yeah erm right, and we also believe in the easter bunny :shake:
If it was trafficking into the UK I could just about see that - but there are far easier ways for an asian based gang to bring drugs into indonesia than coercing a british grandmother (fast boats into deserted beaches being the obvious one)
AFAIK we only have her word for any of this supposed coersion being true (its also odd that she feared for her families life so much that she was willing to smuggle, but having been caught she's now willing to tell that she was coerced, doesnt she fear reprisals against her family if she doesnt keep her mouth shut ? )
And I can think of one personal instance in this country in which I'd carry out the sentence myself![]()
Death penalty is never justified. A savage punishment dealt out by savage nations. I'll probably be accused of being in some sort of 'brigade' but I don't care![]()
Jimmy is already dead though
Yup! She knew what she was doing and would have probably got a nice earner out of it had she pulled it off. A few more harsh punishments brought back in this country would make a few think twice. Out of interest has anybody watched the first episode of Death row with trevor Mc Donald?

Yes watched it last night. Must admit to feeling a little bit sorry for the guy who whilst not on x row got 170 yrs for the double murder when he was 13. Not saying he should not have been punished... Seems to be trying to make the best of his situation...

The bullet will hopefully send a message.
What a disgusting, despicable thing to say.
gramps said:How many people have been killed due to the proliferation of drugs ... two today just because of ecstacy - you want to deal in misery, accept the consequences.
You're entitled to your opinion, as am I.

Nobody should be killed for a crime. Not even murder. The reason why we have the society we do is because we don't kill, under ANY circumstances. We don't do it because it would be easy. We stick with the harder task of trying to educate and rehabilitate. It's what makes us better than every country that thinks executing people is a deterrent. You will never deter the desperate.
Whatever role this woman played, she is survived by people who have committed no crime, and they will grieve for the rest of their days because of this woman's actions.
An old lady is going to be blindfolded and made to stand against a wall so that her fellow humans can blow her brains out from a distance. Because she transported a drug across a border.
It's disgusting.

Thanks for stating the blindingly obvious. I was wondering who was entitled to their opinion, and now you've cleared that up for me. So that's good.
