That is what it is called that covers the microphone to help stop wind noise blowing across the mike.
The one on the picture is not that successful so hunted high and low on the internet, possibly to find material to make my own.
I have found a company in Germany that makes them for my microphone and ordered it. From what I read it looks as if the fur strands are longer, about twice the length so ordered one. Now just got to wait for it to arrive.
If it doesn't do the job any better then the company i bought it from will take it back but for the cost I won't bother
