Yes
My D90 won't power up for some reason. I tried other batteries etc but nothing. it has not been used for a few months and the batteries have been removed during this period. Also tried it with and without the battery grip.

Any ideas anyone.

have you tried holding down the two buttons with a green dot next to them?
I think from memory that doing this sets the camera to factory default settings

EDIT - just been googling for you - it appears that the internal battery will last 3 months without the main battery in and once that drains it will die. It sounds like it may come back to life if you leave the main battery in it for a few hours to recharge the internal battery though.

PS for the two button reset you need to hold them down for 2 seconds for it to work

Many thanks for your reply, I will try these methods and see what happens.

Still won't power up, guess it's time to buy a new camera i hardly think any repair cost would be viable.

It will still have a decent value on EBay as a 'Not Working' camera - go towards a replacement?

Well, I'd try to research it on the internet. It shouldn't happen to it, at this stage, as it's still a relatively new camera.

Go back to your retailer if you don't have any success with other methods. It doesn't matter about warranty/guarantee. The Sale of Goods Act is something you should have a look at and it could cover you for this. As long as you can prove that you've cared for your camera, you might get some help in fixing it. I've used that approach before, with a flashgun that malfunctioned long after its guarantee. I got every penny back, because they couldn't but admit that it was a product fault.

Thanks for the replies but I dunno if I can be bothered to be honest it is quite old now and might treat myself to a D700 instead.

Not going to bin it and will take it apart to see if I can sort it then bin it if no joy.

Well I took it apart and could not see anything obvious so perhaps something significant had failed so in the bin it went and no more photography for me until I can afford another body.
