weekly De88ie's 52 2016 - Week 49 50 51

Great find of whatever that is :) And you did a great job to remove the wires Debbie.

Two nicely themed 52 images this week Debbie. :)

Although like the other Chris, they do look a little soft, but I'm on a lap top at the moment and not my "proper" screen.

Like the Harry Potter take for the Static theme Debbie. Very original

Yeah I'm looking on my iPad. I always try to view via Flickr though as tapatalk usually makes things look iffy with their default viewer [emoji849]

Thank you for all the comments.
It is a little out of focus, i could probably sharpen it in affinity photo. Same with the wb.
I did crop it more but wasn't sure if it looked like it was flying.

Really like both of those Debbie but the one of the golden snitch is absolutely perfect for the theme.

That HP thing looks interesting and looks focused to me whatever it is.

I love the Ford Anglia ... I want one. :D

That's the best so far Debbie I have seen for game. When I first saw it I thought fair play what a find and how did she capture that !

Thank you, it is sharper on the original. Still trying to work out why flickr does this on upload.

Thank you, it's sharper when viewed on flickr.
Taken with 45mm f1.8 lens on olympus OM-D EM-10. Lovely lens.
oops double post.

Static - Nice shot there, I'm sure it looked more battered in the film ;)
Game - Nice one, and as others have said, much improved by the removal of the wires. The oof background certainly helps it stand out (I guess you had to have f/1.8 due to being in low light anyway).
Serene - That's a lovely smile you've caught there with your daughter (y)

Thank you, yes i think you're right about the car, the womping willow got the better of it.
The lens is great, it hasn't taken a bad photo yet.

I had the same thought, but don't know anyone by that name, suppose I could have lied ... :D

Lovely portrait Debbie :)

Serene....definitely an opportunity not to be missed.
Lovely natural daughter portrait.

David, found the answer to an earlier observation, the Ford Anglia was £492 in October 1965, for the standard saloon. :jawdrop:

I had a little play and it's not eay to improve much on the jpg, moving the red channel results in some pretty poor images :(
I agree with Susie that there is a better conversion in there somewhere, but I'm not up to finding it.
This is probably a shot where spot metering would have helped over evaluative (but then the sky would be blown).

Nice capture Debbie, but I agree there is another image in there, trying to get out.

I went for a levels tweak, it was better but halo's started to become a problem on such a low res image.

Thanks everyone. Think this theme is a reshoot next time it comes out of the bag. Thanks Andy, will double check the lens filter to make sure dust is on filter and not trapped behind it on the lens. Would the raw pic have made any difference when editing the image ? (sorry if its a daft question).

If the detail is not there in the first place, no amount of editing in raw will make it so.
(In this instance it looks like all the detail is there, so I'd say no)

Thanks Cobra. Dark Knight, i liked the idea of the spitfire with its obvious links to WW11 and my thoughts that war is one of the things that can not be classed as black and white. The picture didn't work as well as i would have liked. Thanks for asking.

Ahhhh yes that makes sense :)

Hi,

Catching up a bit.

Lovely natural portrait for Serene
Black and White - I like the original colour version, agree with others that I'm not sure the B & W version quite works, maybe a closer crop would work to make more of the strips on the wing/body.

I prefer the colour version as it provides a stark contrast for the b&w of the aircraft. Nice choice for the theme.
