Davidh6781 - Themed 52 - Week 27 - Art Page 12

Again, the idea is cool, but the second one needs a focus point. Even if it's an old can or crisp paper in the foreground. A dead body would work...well, not a real one, of course!

I will have a play with some cropping and see how that comes out.

Dead bodies certainly would be hardwork. lol

I really like the second one, real nice colour to it. Works well that the sky is blown out, and the texture of the pavement is good too!
How did you take this? Did you set the camera up or did you lie down? Dont know how these low street shots are set up
Great effort for your week 4!

I like the second shot.. great low angle and like the colour cast on it.. as mentioned there is a feeling of desolation and grittiness (is that a word?) to it.. pity the cyclist is so far in the distance, bit closer would have been perfect for me :)

Loving the second street shot!! On the first one the column\pillar looks a little wonky.

How i took this was with the camera on a bean bag plus laid down to make sure the focus was right. 2 second timer as i had forgot my release cable and then let is do its thing. i used a upper focus point to bypass the floor and that seemed to work well.

the colour etc was a photoshop edit, no sharpening just what was done in camera.

With the first shot i'd have taken a snap with the post as the focal point. That might have been interesting. I do prefer the second though. Reminds me of the movie '28 weeks later'

Ah, cheers for the technique.
Dont know if I have the bottle to lie down on a street though, will have to change this week though, gotta get the 52 done.

I like the second one best. I like the conversion and might have been tempted to add a bit of grain to make it even more gritty. A pity the cyclist is not nearer but I found it difficult to get the timing right with street shots, and without a remote you didn't have much chance.

I'm going to jump into the second shot camp too. Full marks for getting down and dirty on the pavement in both, liking the angles you've got. Preferring the second for the desolation, but oh what a great shot it would have been a few seconds later with the cyclist further into the frame. Go back and do it again

Like the one of Humber Street David. A good angle and good PP work. It was a little busier when I was down there today....Mick

Here is week 5 Speed.

Was going to do some thing with the car but thought hmm do this.

Disclaimer. I do NOT condone drug abuse nor do i take part in it.

Went about 11 just saw 7 dodgy looking charactors. Check my 52 Street:)...Mick

interesting take on speed David, the £20 in the shot looks crisp and sharp, its a good job you didnt take that lot, you'd be up for a week!

I prefer the second street shot, i like the slight sepia tone to it

I was a little unsure about it really but thought go for it.

Lol, its paracetamol as i don't have speed in stock.

Catch up and wrist slap :)

Poem: Lovely classic poem and a nice warm shot to illustrate it! Nice

Chopped: Second shot with boosted colours is the one - love the viewpoint!

Street: the archway shot for me - nice framed and ticks all the boxes for the theme

Speed: Really really nice image - great detail and light! your best so far!

And I've had to link a few 'cos they exceed the forum size rule of 800px longest edge!

Resize and get 'em back on display and remove my gubbins :)

I like your speed shot I actually thought of this got it all set up with icing sugar, my other half walked in and was quite shocked LOL but then thought better of it, then it blew away when he opened the kitchen door again.

Nice clear shot and love the colours.

Aha... I saw that in my Flickr contacts and knew it would be someone's 'speed' shot for this week. :D

Works nicely for me, though I wonder if a couple of slightly cleaner lines and a little less powder migh have given it a little more room to breathe. My only other thought is that it's not very fine, and looks a little lumpy!

LOL, i told the missus and she oh right, it was my mum who i asked for a load of paracetamol tablets and when she asked why, i got a good quizzing lol.

Initially thought of car related but though most may do transport.

I thought it could of been finer but i did compare against actual speed piccy and it look similar. I even used my noggin and thought of a good way to get a reflective black surface.

Agree with both of Chris' comments here.
Keep up the good shots! :D

Of the street shots, I prefer the first for content... I think having the buildings as the point of focus works nicely.

Speed is an unusual shot for the theme, but it works well and is well taken.

thank you, both street shot and the speed shot was fun to take, took loads of pictures then sat and choose the best.

thank you. i did debate with myself should i take the picture or shouldn't i lol

Have seen a couple of other drug interpretations of this week's them, and have to say that this is the best exeecuted one I have seen yet. Great detail, composition and exposure. Perfect.

An interesting take, I was thinking of this myself but felt it was slightly too edgy for me lol. Get detail in the shot

Technically I think this is the best photo from you so far
Good lighting, good detail and lovely & sharp.
You've got the angle of the reflection absolutely spot on too.

I'm not sure if I'd have preferred your "speed" a little neater . . . then again I kind of like the randomness of the pile.

Well done. A really good week for you
