After last year's failure I've decided to try again and hopefully I'll beat 4 days this time round :D

Today is a bunch of flowers I shot practicing for some upcoming producty foody stuff

Day 3 comes just under the wire, sitting watching tele and realised I hadn't done a shot today, luckily my office is messy enough to make an interesting photo :D

Day 4

Today has army men, considering using army men as a recurring theme they kinda rock.
Thinking humanities last stand against the alien invaders (cctv cameras)

Good luck and all the rest, its proving difficult to find something to take pictures of or remembering in general. I saw the sunset this evening and wished I got it, but it was dark by the time I got home >.<
 
Day 5

More foody experimentation today



200mm ish on 70-200L tripod mounted
laid on a black blanket,
softbox high behind pointing forwards,
flash bare zoomed to 105mm cam left ever so slightly in front of the apple,
tri-grip diffuser (FiTP) cam right

great shots so far.. love the apple.. wow, lighting is complicated stuff by the looks of it.. :thinking:
 
day 4 is a great shot, made me laugh, day 6 is cool! great idea to include the setup shot aswell

I wonder if some of it woulda been better with a single light

though if I had 4 it would be fun :D

personal record for flashes in a shot is 6 but tbh I like 1/2/3+ speedlights as they go in a bag and take batteries

just use what you have to hand paper is a good reflector and still life doesn't move
 
Day 8



Loving this shot it was a one take wonder, I picked an aperture for the DoF set the flash power by guess and put the reflector where there was a cup, far enough away to give the falloff and kill the flash enough to let me use f1.4, I forgot the iso was on 200 :D and shutter to kill the ambient. Setup was frame two :D
 
Day 9



Moved back into halls today (I dislike halls, wanna be in a house grumble grumble) the view I love and you'll have a few iterations of it over the year :D Today has lots of snow and I shot it as I finished unpacking.
 
Day 10



Shot a self portrait (kinda) today cos of OptimusBri's 365. It's not a real self portrait as foxy loxy (alastairb^^^) pulled the trigger but erm yeah

Dedicated to revision and how angry it makes me, also loving the handy poster. Setup is here. Loving alastair's new 7d with its flash comander, I might have to pick up an st-e2 sometime.
 
I like it! The lighting is good. You do look very angry, you must really hate revision :lol:
Although you do have it easy with someone else pulling the trigger. :p You don't know the frustration of having to put up with the self timer and having 10 seconds to panic and get in position haha!
 
yeah revision sucks balls, loving using a 70-200 like that not sure if that's how canon envisaged it :D

yeah self timer can be annoying, what about getting a cable release? FiTP sells wireless ones?

I might be shooting more of these as I always have a willing model then, I'm just not v photogenic :D
