DAVID SUCHET - PEOPLE I HAVE SHOT

"David Suchet’s grandfather, James Jarche, was a prolific, talented news photographer whose work has largely been forgotten. Suchet, a keen amateur photographer himself, wants to look at the world through “Jimmy’s” lens. The result is much more interesting than John Sergeant’s recent photo-based series because not only is it personal but Jarche’s photos – from Churchill to Welsh miners, royalty to West End actresses – are quite simply a brilliant snapshot of a bygone era.

ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
1/5. The actor travels across Britain to photograph subjects including Welsh mining families, David Cameron and the Queen, following in the footsteps of his grandfather James Jarche, a fearless Fleet Street photographer. He explores his relative's work depicting all walks of life on film as he examines change through the decades, and also experiences what it is like to be in a war zone when he accompanies the Army on a training exercise.

Missed it but sounds interesting....will try and watch if it is on repeat or on demand thing

Definitely sounds worth catching! I had no idea the guy was a photographer, either.

Caught it last night, a very engaging programme, Suchet has an interesting tale to tell about his photographer relative.
