weekly Dave's 52 Week 52 Showcase and Finished

It fills the bill Dave, I hope that you are feeling better.

Good take on the ask Dave. I like how it almost seem like the viewer is looking down at the sign.

Nice light and shadows Dave :)

My type of interpretation, you could always use it for this weeks challenge as well :)

Nice shot, and almost exactly the same as one I took today as a last resort in case I don't get what I'm after by later this week!

Lots of parallels there good picture for the theme and a good one for monochrome too! :)

So... I am going to say 1 out of 10 Dave, must try harder. ;)

Yes, technically monochrome, you've stuck it on the Monochrome setting and fair enough, it's black & white.

But... No effort(not really the right word) taken. That is actually a picture with browns, greens, greys (I suspect), silver and maybe even a bit of blue sky converted to B&W.

If you look at:
@Nod - worked to get a shot that was all shades of yellow
@-Oy- - A Sepia conversion is spot on for a Steam Railway shot
@Peter123 - All of that was originally going to be shades of grey. Given a blue hue for interest
@gjhill - The grey sky and dull light would have made the post a similar hue
@Chevin - The Dominos are white on black. placed on a black background that's monochrome SooC (I know Duncan didn't mark it as tech, but it is)
and there are others, but...

There was a thought process undertaken to capture something that starts out as monochrome, and may need tweaking, but in essence is a monochromatic shot SooC. Whereas the image presented feels to me to be a colour image turned B&W just as a nod to the technique.

NB. This may feel to others that I am picking on you, but we go back far enough that I know I can give you honest critique without offense being taken. :)
I'm hoping that this critique may help some others with their thought process for the technique.

Thank you Tim, and thanks for the critique as well and yes we do go back a long way in the 52 and I do not think at all you are picking on me as that is how we learn in the 52. Thank you again.

I like that Dave.

Interesting critique @LC2 are yousaying , get as close to a monochrome picture and then convert to B&W if needed?

Your shot definitely fill the parallel theme Dave with competing vertical and horizontal lines.

I like that Dave.

Thank you John, the tech is for Monochrome but in truth mine is know where near what I can do as Tim pointed out to me.

Hi John,
Sort of. What I'm saying is shoot something that works for the tech, where as much as possible you're shooting the same colour / hue, and then pp to suit.
Remember, it doesn't need to be B&W. @Nod proved this with his Yellow Monochrome shot.
I think that quite a few sunrise shots colour everything in an amber/yellow hue, which then lends itself to monochrome. The lighting is everything.
@Cobra sets the techs to make us think, not just tick a box. :)

This time please don't put a Tech done tic for me, as I know I can do better

in truth mine is know where near what I can do
Okie Dokie Dave. Yes, I know that once you put your mind to it, you'll smash it. :)
I'm wondering if any of the local street art sites might have something that works.

Only slightly bu99ering it up with those 2 red 2s!!! :headbang:
