Dave's 365

55/365 - Not a lot of photo time again today. Just managed a quick snap of a couple of the girls from the Photography Club I run at our meeting tonight. Membership has it's privileges! ;)

(Edit - missed the focus a bit I've just realised .)

Just popped into your thread playing catch-up again (so many threads, so little time)!!

Loads more good stuff, well done mate. I particularly like the Spinnaker Tower shot. The tower has been "done to death" locally and it is good to see an unusual take on it.............and so well composed and executed as well.

I didn't know you ran a camera club..........a man of many talents! How on earth do you find the time to do it all?

I'm also trying to catch up. :)

Love the Spinnakar shot - as
Crusher said, it's been done to death but this is a different take and fabulous. Puts South Today's shot of it in their opening titles to shame.

I'm always amazed by the range and quality of your stuff, Dave. It's a real treat to see.

I hope the 'old lady of Barton' signed a model release form.:lol:

No Keith, nor do I  Probably why I'm so knackered all the time

I'm also trying to catch up. :)

56/365 - OK a bit of a cliche shot today but something I've been meaning to try for a while. It didn't come out quite as I planned but it's bedtime now (have to be up at 5) so I might re-visit this idea later. Good night all.... :)

Thanks chaps :)

No pic yesterday as I was away on business and just did not get a chance :( (Anyhow, posted two on day 30, so that makes up for it!)

58/365 - No time again today so grabbed a shot of this strange orb thing floating about in the garden tonight.... ;)

Expect loads of photos tomorrow as I'm picking up (hopefully) my new D300 in the morning :D

Ooo nice shot, so what is it?

Hmm new camera, D300 very nice (My Sister has one). I would like to upgrade to a 50D :) although also got my eye on a Canon 70-200 F4 L lens

We drove past Netley Abbey and wanted to visit yesterday, but was closed, guess it's only open on weekends?

Nice shot, looks a little like it has HDR processing?

How you finding the D300? :) I just got mine yesterday Too! Methiks JDholic will be wanting one soon! LOL

Yeah it's great Del. Feels nice and solid. Just got to get used to it now :woot: How you finding it?

Like the tones in 59's shot :)

Thanks Chilli. :)

Nope, no HDR, just adjusted a few sliders in Lightroom :)

Well I've been using a D200&Grip so it feels really bizarre to me.

 I have used one, I found the countless menus very confusing in comparison to my D40. I suppose once you have it setup for yourself, there would be very little to change. I really really really really want one now. Someone find me the cheapest body only price on t'internet.....

OOOh new toy great feeling isn't it, I like day 59 very nice shot keep at it mate ;)

60/365 - Sunday means sailing for me. I had a lovely sail today in perfect conditions. Here's a shot of a couple of Lasers having some close racing. :) Absolutely loving the new camera too! :D

Wow sailing as well, what don't you do :)

Great shot (looks like they are about to hit), glad you are enjoying your new toy.

I wish I had sea legs! Then again...I think I do, I think it's my sea bottom that's no good  I'm fine if I'm stood up, but as soon as I sit down I feel queasy :p

Nice shots recently, just having a catch up! It looks like you're enjoying the camera! :)

Just catching up again Dave. As always the quality of the shots and the originalness (is that a word?) is great.

I'm not at all jealous about your new camera:bang::bang:

We missed you at the WWT meet today!

Keep 'em coming..........

Thanks Julian. Nah, not about to hit, just very close. We have a saying "A miss is as good as a mile" :D

Stop making me jealous!! Lovely picture, what exact benefits have you noticed since the upgrade to the d300??

Oooh lots! The most noticeable is that the camera just feels so right! Having all the adjustable settings on the camera help too, rather than having to dive into the menus. Oh yes, and the high ISO performance is fantastic! :D

61/365 - I went out at lunchtime today to test the D300's focus tracking on Seagulls - can't say I'm too disappointed! :D Taken with the 70-300VR @145mm, 1/1600 f6.3 ISO 200

Love the gull shot, the light through the wing feathers is really cool and the little bit of cloud also adds interest without detracting fro the bird (rather than an all blue sky). Looks like you are used to your D300 already :)

I hate you and your d300, focus tracking and quick af is what I really need with my next camera. Which, judging by the quality of your recent shots, I will definitely be getting one in the next couple of weeks!!

Great shots over the last few days Dave. Love the sailing one.
Thanks Marc :)

Cheers Julian. It really is a great camera to use.

The Gull shot looks almost Computer Generated :)
Thanks Chilli (I think!)

62/365 - Ignition! I've tried this type of shot before without much success so I thought I'd have another go. The 6 fps certainly helps! :D

SHHHHH!!!! Any more talk about d300 related things and I'm going to steal your credit card to buy myself one!!!

Lovely shot Dave, I've tried it before as well but couldn't get anything decent. ::clap:
