Bricking it at the mo as i have to take my 4 year old daughter to a special clinic at 12:30 today to have an Op to remove 4 teeth under General Anesthetic!!! She is at school at the mo so going to pick her up in a bit. She doesnt know what is going to happen!!

Ouch! Hopefully it's gonna be more painful for you than your daughter. Best of luck and hope it goes well.

Have a good talk to her about it beforhand so she understands what will happen, tell her it will hurt, but not much and that mummy and daddy will be there with her.

And make sure she gets a treat when she wakes up!!

Good luck.

Best wishes, my youngun had the same when he was 5, even to this day he remembers that the mask smelled of cherries! He is now 10

Best of luck and hope everything goes OK.

Best piece of advice is to make sure that you explain what is happening and why. Reassure that you will be there and that she will be OK.

One of the nurses at GOS was telling me last week that they had a family who bought their 4 yr old in for a brain op and they had told her they were going to the zoo for the day - imagine the suprise when they took her to the ward:shrug: She was screaming by the time they got her to the ward and all the dad said to the nurse was can you sort her out as I don't know why she is like this. I think the nurses reply was we do the medical you do the rest!!

why did they remove them? (if you dont mind me asking)

She already had 3 fillings in 3 of them. Prone to problems and likely to cause more in the not too distant future so they advised to remove them.

you can get toothbrushes for children you know, and childrens toothpaste

Glad it all turned out ok.

Tractor Boy - that is disgusting what those parents did. Someone should tell the father that he is going to a football match and then take him in and castrate him instead, see how he likes it.

Unfortunately the ability to procreate does not come universally packaged with the facility to nurture.

Glad your daughter is well.
