Datacolor Spyder 3 Pro download software - help

Having just reinstalled Windows on my PC, I'm finishing going through reinstalling all the applications.

However, I'm now stuck with my Spyder: Datacolor have taken their entire support section offline for the Christmas period, including all the executables. I do have the original CD but I remember having issues with W7 64-bit as the supplied version on it is really old.

Does anyone have a recent installer for Spyder 3 or know of a mirror where it's available? I've had a quick search but all the sources are suspicious :lol:

A big :thumbsdown: to Datacolor for doing this. I can understand not having a live support section through the Christmas break but please keep the downloads section available. :bang:
 
You remember having issues with the CD? So you haven't tried it again yet? You should give it a go; I've only ever used the version of Spyder 3 Pro on disk with my PC which is W7 64-bit and it works fine.
 
Well I've just reinstalled from the CD. Haven't come across the problem yet, but I seem to remember an annoyance or glitch that was resolved in a more recent version, maybe something to do with managing multiple monitors / extended desktop.

I'll post back if I figure out / come across the problem with the version on the CD.
 
Windows 7 has annoying trick of forgetting the profile so you have to change some settings in the colour management panel
 
One of the annoyances: it looks like I have to run it as Administrator because despite my profile being local admin, it comes up with error messages. It could be because my profiledir is not on the C: drive, but I don't recall having that issue before (profile still not on C: drive).

Mind you, it's the same with Photoshop CS6 - fails to run under any account other than Administrator if you've moved your profiledir. Bad Adobe!

This ^

I ran my Spyder on Dad's PC to make sure it wasn't fubar'd when it wasn't having any of my laptop, everytime you open a new browser window the profile turns off, then comes back, then will pop off every now and then seemingly at will! Had a heart attack earlier when I checked my own website and everything was blown out white, only to reappear shortly afterwards! :lol:

Oh and I used the software on the disc on Dad's win 7 PC and it was fine. :thumbs:
 
Uploading it now, should be in the www.as-images.co.uk/spyder folder in about 12 minutes according to my ftp app (damn karoo and their utterly naff connections)

so yeah, click the link at about 17:10ish :P
 
removed now but if for some reason anyone else wants it let me know :)
 
I had a similar issue installing on a new PC, but found the updated version in the downloads folder of my laptop and transferred that over.
I really can't see why they needed to disable the downloads for almost two weeks, just because no-one was home to answer any queries.
