Just wondered what would be the ultimate bargain "steal" these days... I don't expect miracle, but reasonable view day and night to at least read the number plate of the car in front.

Do I just pick any from fleabay? Any specific recommendations? I see plenty from £10-30.

I had one for £100 from Argos (prestigio something). It was horrible IQ and it didn't save most clips on the card. It was even missing the clip I needed so it went back. So I'm now not willing to spend anywhere near that amount unless it is known to be amazing (i.e. good as a recent premium smartphone video...).

I will need x 2 to get one in the back as well, unless you somehow do it as reversing + recording camera.

These have been discussed loads of times. Doing a search of the forum may result in seeing some useful information.

I have a nextbase one from Halfords, there are better ones out there, but it was installed hassle free and works very very well. Quality is good.

Lots on the Chinese stores like gearbest. Thee sj7000 can be used as a dashcam it was loop recording and motion detection. Plus it's a action camera so can use it on you bike etc.. $43 on gearbest.

I've been looking myself recently and think I'm going to go for one of these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dash-Camer...d=1456309229&ref_=sr_1_1&s=electronics&sr=1-1

Reviews and Youtube Video examples look pretty good, plus being the capacitor version, there's no battery to die.

My dad has this one, it's a pretty impressive image for such a well priced camera. I'm thinking of getting one myself.

The video looks a lot better than the overpriced prestigio.

Are these any good while car is parked and somebody smashes into it? I had two of these in my history luckily saw them both in person coming back to the cars... Both would have ended as hit and run if I hadn't intervened

Edit: A little bit cheaper on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/B40-PRO-A...366078?hash=item210648f7be:g:TqMAAOSw5VFWNDP-
Thats the same one?
