Dash Cam footage used to convict bad drivers !

No , why ,do you think I'm an idiot

Sorry should have put a smiley , it's hard to convey humour in text

It's not dashcams as such , it's some of the owners, a certain type that puts every mistake a driver makes up on the internet , we ALL make mistakes driving because we're human but if it carries on like this with the busybodies that think they're perfect drivers posting every minor incident up for scrutiny some of which they helped create because they have the dashcam of proof it won't be long before we're living in a world where we're doing the police work for them and fines will start coming for a mistake we made at a junction a month ago.

Yes sorry a smiley would've been a good idea in hindsight.

Agreed to some extent. Some of the videos are complete non-issues, but I think maybe it has potential to make us all drive more sensibly? If you know a video might appear online or given to the police if serious enough.

I got mine for insurance purposes, in my opinion the standard of driving has plummeted over the last few years (I'm also under no illusion that I'm a perfect driver either). I'm not planning to put anything online personally, either its something for the insurance company or the police.

A lot of them put themselves into positions deliberately to create footage. They have a channel and an opinion to maintain. There's no otherway to describe some of them one having 2-3 incidents per journey.
And don't even get me started on some of the cycling vigilantes with dashcams. If you think the drivers are bad...

There's rarely a drive or ride without seeing twits on any number of wheels!

(Having said that, I didn't see any idiocy on the roads when I was heading out to golf. Mind you, 07:00 on a bank holiday Monday, I only saw 3 other vehicles! Oh, hang on a moment - I did see one idiot - in the mirror! It was raining and I was off for a 2 1/2 mile slow walk in it!!!)

to be fair theres rarely a bike ride that doesnt have some sort of moron in a tin can involved somehow.

Human nature. You'll find knobs no matter what form of transport, just dash cams seem to bring out the worse in some people

Some aren't even on wheels, some are pedestrians, some are OAP's (old aged pedestrians) they are the ones who can't walk quickly yet insist on crossing a road anywhere apart from the designated crossing 10yds away and to make matters worse they cross the road at 45degs, probably doubling the length of time they are in the road.

Caught my first ever interesting snippet of dash cam footage this morning. Car driving at speed along the m3 hard shoulder.

Trying to find out if Hants Constabulary want the footage.

Nice one !

Some footgate making the rounds on our local facebook page of a Taxi driving full on the pavement outside a school during in and out of all the kids, it has gone to the local newspaper and the police.

At least the police are on the ball occasionally,
M25 "Congestion stay in lane" on the over head matrix.
White BMW weaves through the traffic, and brakes at the over head, 40mph signs, causing fun, cutting people up.
I'm sure a few must have got that on dash cam...

But 3 or 4 miles down the road there "she" was on the hard shoulder looking sheepish, while a M/C cop was writing her out a ticket ..
Although to be fair, he may have been giving her his phone number as she wasn't at all bad looking ;)
