Other than seeing the odd few seconds of a darts game I have never watched it on TV until the last couple of days.

Along with some brilliant throwing, and some truly appalling(at times some of the players was scoring what I could do in the pub) what struck me was the audience.

At times it appeared some were in their own world unrelated to the match going on and quite a few seemed to been on the lash but when the supporters of one player booed the other there was no aggro. Imagine if they had been some football fans in the same situation.

People dont follow darts as they do football teams - its an excuse for a booze up and have some fun. In most cases people are not really bothered who wins or if their favourite loses.

I don't get to watch darts much, but I do think it's quite exciting.

Football fans often boo other teams, trouble as a result is actually rare.

I was more surprised that as the fans of the two players were altogether they could have had a go at each other, but didn't. I should have included this above.

The ref still gets slagged off, even when he's there, as do cricket umpires (in the lower leagues anyway - in the professional game(s), they're unlikely to be in the same bar!)
