Darktable software ? Alternative to Light Room ?

Used it exclusively for about 5 years.

It's community written, so relatively easy to suggest new features and a helpful crowd with how tos.
 
I have it on a linux laptop, don't use the laptop much but darktable works fine, no problems with it.

I have not used anything apart from darktable for the last 2 years - used LR6 on windows 10 before but switched to linux (debian jessie) and LR6 was the only thing i really missed but darktable has a similar interface to LR6 and i can't now see any reason to move away from darktable or debian.
