The TP52 - 2026 Darkslinger's 52 for 26

Nice photos again Bill, I will look at the main thread to see if I guessed right :), I think you will like the girl with the coat that matches the lights. My favourite is the patchy puddle shot reflections.

HA HA ! I don' t believe it. I was wrong. You and your photos are full of surprises.

LOL, I'm going to have to try that for members submitting multiple pictures. Thanks for the comments Wayne.

Week 6 Looking Through

I think that I enjoyed this challenge the best so far. I made me think more about the shots I was taking as I walked around the city. It was a fantastic day for shooting with bright light, softened by scattered cloud cover.

Started out thinking that I take a few shots looking out the Skytrain window. The man in front of me obligingly wore some chunky headphones that made for foreground interest so I figured a multi exposure might work. This is five shots processed in LR, PS and Nik Effects
Week 6 - Looking Through 1.jpg

Getting off at Burrard Station, the morning like was good. I liked the shot of the young man as I looked through the shrubbery (I wish someone would bring me a shrubbery...)

And a man and his dog walking through the construction supports
Week 6 - Looking Through 4.jpg

This plaza near the water is where the torch from the 2010 Vancouver Olympics is installed. Looking through the legs of the structure I saw this man sitting having his lunch. I was lucky enough to have a couple walk through the scene as well
Week 6 - Looking Through 5.jpg

And looking through the glass at one of the entrances to the Skytrain. I liked the gritty feel of this image

I dont check out the main thread for yours Bill until I have seen the selection, so many nice shots of which several meet the "framed" aspect, its difficult to pick the best one, I like the train shot and the Plaza has a really good perspective and fantastic DOF, The RGB shot though is simple and effective. Now to check !

An excellent set, and you chose such a strong shot - well done!

What is a sky train? I thought this might have been a shot out of a light aircraft.
I'm not sure I like the multi exposure. I'm all for double expsures where there is a clear separation, but this just feels blurry to me (but hey, what do I know!)

Thanks Tim, each to his own, all good.

The Skytrain is a our version of Elevated Light Rapid Transit, although portions of most of the lines also travel underground.

Here's a pic of it crossing the Fraser River

Good set again Bill, I usually prefer colour but your chosen shot really works

A nice set Bill and I like the one you've chosen. Very inventive :)
Thanks Pete!

Thanks Keith, I played with colour for this one but felt that the b&w was stronger.
Good set, but I do like the technique used in your submission.
Thanks Kell, not for everyone but something I like messing around with.

Great set - like 'em all!

Super set, nough said

I really like the effect of several combined images - it makes a refreshing change to have an image that isn't pristine-sharp but conveys motion.

Thanks Wayne.
Really interesting set, any of them would have been a great choice
Thank you Alan.
I like the chosen image here and the processing is really good
Thanks Adam, I tried it a few different ways but liked the b&w best.

Thanks Phil, I do like to play around with my images.

I really like the effect of the first picture (all great pictures by the way!) the intended wobble or blur really makes it pop out for me.

Week 7 Reflections in Water

A busy photo challenge for me this week. I went out on four separate occasions and managed to capture a lot of reflections images.

From my dog walk near my home. I liked this shot (turned upside down)
Week 7 - Reflections in Water 1.jpg

And, of course, the obligatory shot that includes a crow
Week 7 - Reflections in Water 2.jpg

An a day later, at the Derby Reach off-leash park beside an offshoot of the Fraser River. The water was so calm.
Week 7 - Reflections in Water 3.jpg

On Monday my wife and I walked the Pattullo bridge. It is being replaced by a new bridge built beside it and was closed to vehicle traffic but open to foot traffic. This is looking on the opposite side from the new bridge at the Skytrain bridge and Westminster Quay
Week 7 - Reflections in Water 4.jpg

And finally, yesterday, I went to the village of Steveston. Known for its fishing industry

Super shots there Bill. I like the first one myself.

Good set again Bill, the b&w shots work especially well, great reflections in the colour shots but maybe they are a bit “too much” when next to the more subdued B&W but that’s just me

A fine set. It's the last one for me :) The vertical things and a blob of red :)

Such a shame that the crow wasn't a couple of crows feet from the puddle as that may have allowed you to catch all of it in the puddle, which would have been excellent.
I do like the shot you chose though, it works really well.

Nice set as always Bill. +1 for your chosen shot, but I like the Derby Reach shot too.

A nice set Bill. I like the one you've chosen, the framing is lovely.

I'm now expecting a crow pic every week :)
