Darkslinger's 52 for 25

Thanks Dave, the Analog Efex has a multi-lens preset that splits up an image in a number of different ways. It's pretty interesting seeing what I can get with different images.

I've been using the suite for many years. I mainly use SilverEfex and ColorEfex. Almost never fully. I tend to apply to a new layer then back it off to suit.

A similar workflow to me, except that I usually add edits in LR before and tweaks in LR after.

Week 29 Vibrant

We went to a local craft brewery. They always have about 15 different small batch brews available (along with at least one cider from a different local cidery). They give their patrons the option of buying flights of four different brews to taste. I thought that they might make a good vibrant submission:

Very vibrant :) , not sure I would like to drink it though. Must add a fair bit of colouring to it

That red drink is very vibrant and, good choice for the theme.
Thanks Allan.
Great vibrancy but makes me think of alcopops! I’m old school with my beer
LOL, I like to try different things when it comes to my liquid alcopops :D

Not sure about the colouring, they call it their triple berry sour.
A different and effective take on the theme
Thanks Paul.

Week 30 Body Parts

It came to me that, really, I could post any image for this theme, as they all represent part of the body of my work as a photographer...but I did try to find a couple of things that are specific to "body"

The content of this cup was once part of a larger body of water

All three of those are classics Bill

the grain in the background and the clarity of the reflection on the lower portion of the "T" is very nice

Thanks Wayne, I got a different result with the XT than I was going for but I kind of like how it turned out.

Good set Bill, great reflections on the XT- pity the background wasn't all the same colour but guess the XT is near the side of the car. Like the focus/DOF of the book, won't mention the spelling tires/tyres :)

Your body of test is very pleasing, also liking the XT although I would be tempted to reshoot after a bit of a polish.

Three very different and creative approaches to the theme.
Thanks Paul
Some imaginative subjects - i really like the printed page pic.
Thank you Simon

LOL, tyres in the UK, tires in North America...

Thanks Ryan, I was too lazy to polish it, so I'm claiming that I was going for "gritty"...

Week 31 Contrasts and tech

Took a ferry on a day trip to Bowen Island, I liked the contrast between the dark sea and the bright clouds. This is a two shot pano.

Aug 06-25 (1 of 1)-9.JPG

Nice one Bill :)

Very nice and a pano from a boat with boats in the shot(y) Not sure about the dark land on the rhs as a bit distracting but cropping would spoil the shot .

I like that. Makes you want to start the motor and chug the boat into the misty islands.

You've blended the two pictures well, if you hadn't said it was two shots, I wouldn't have known. It looks very peaceful.

I hear you Keith, I kept it just for the theme, light vs. dark...
Very nice kind of bleak but nice
LOL, maybe I should have brightened it up a bit...I never thought of it as bleak... :D
Great shot Bill.
Thanks Simon.

Yeah, I would have liked to explore more. It was the first time we've gone over there (even though it's only a 20 minute ferry ride)

Thanks Simon, it was such a beautiful morning, really nice.

Week 32 Pets

Took the opportunity to try out a new cheap, very cheap, fill-light panel that I got on-line. Small plastic and if it breaks I won't lose sleep over it. Just a quick couple of grabs of my little one.

And while shooting a community garden this one walked by and seem to be completely fascinated by me. The owner said that he really likes cameras...go figure...

I kind of like that it's a two-fer with the other dog in the background.

Cute pooches Bill. No2 for the cuter than cute factor!

Great expressions on your dog shots, not sure what the last one would look like if he didn't like cameras

Week 33 Movement

A bit of a mini catchup, I took them within the timeframe but had to go out of town and didn't get to post them until now.

This was the scene that caught my eye, I liked the cloud in the background behind the Skytrain track and framed by the building on the left and the lamppost on the right with the "walk" sign in the front:
Week 33 Movement 1.JPG

So I decided to wait for a train to go by (and lost the walk sign):

While I waited, I took some shots of a bus and people going by:

Then I took some shots from the alley across the street:

And settled on this one:

Week 34 Insects

Not my thing really,,,insects...but there are insects in all of these, so I guess that counts...

Nice set. The Black Darter is my fave :)

Good set especaially the colour movement shots, that first insect looks a bit battered

Good catch up, I like the shot you chose for movement, very busy.

Good mini catch-up sets!
Thanks Paul.

Thanks Dave...don't know which is the Black Darter...

Thanks Allan, yeah, lots of people moving in the image.
Well captured for someone who doesn’t like insect photos
LOL, thanks Alan.
