Hey :)

Does anyone here have a Darkroom setup at home? Just after some ideas on how you've got it set out. Pic's would be nice! You're all photographers afterall !! hehe

Thanks,
Jay.

same for me
basically i had a cheap kitchen base unit with 2 metres of cheap worktop on it ,on that sat enlarger dev trays e.t.c

black pvc sheet on window fixed with velcro.

everything now sat gathering dust and never getting round to selling it

ah the memories of that wonderful fragrance of dev/stop & fix:gag: and groping aroround in the dark without a women:'(

Not any more, mine was about 3 meters of board resting on tea chests up in the loft in an L shape, the enlarger on the base of the L and the trays etc ranged along the long side.

In the 21st century people don't have darkrooms at home anymore, jamie. Those are now publicly accessible in the city, and have a different purpose than they did in the 20th century. And leather is the preferred fashion.

There was a pretty cool diagram in the Photography supliment in the Guardian last Saturday, cant find the same thing online though :(

I would love to have my own darkroom, best of luck!

Despite what W. Smith says some people do have darkrooms at home, EVEN in the 21st Century!!!! not all of use use digital (can't afford a DSLR and film is cheap) and want to learn the old ways.

I set mine up in my Garage, walled off a corner and made it light tight, cost me less that £100 all in. if you go onto tipf.org.uk and search darkroom then there are some pics of mine.
