I finally have things sorted!

Everything there cost me £30, the enlarger timer was half of that! Not seen is all the measuring kit and developing tank that is in a box under the table.

£50 on film and chemicals at Silverprint and I'm ready to go, well almost ready, I bought a thermometer but I bought a digital one meant to take peoples temperatures but didn't realize it only reads above 33 degrees. So just waiting on a regular one THEN I'm good to go!

Have you already ordered a thermometer Chris?
Be warned, the dark red light and chemicals make ya go a bit funny, and you'll end up spending a lot of time in there...

i know it looks like you are a bit tight for space ,,but try and keep your dev tray as far away from the stop as possible ,it dosent take much stop spashing over to kill the dev . and dont stand in front of the ariel as it ruins the picture downstairs :)

I have already ordered a thermometer I'm hoping it'll be here by tuesday so I can process by first roll of film at home!

I'm hoping to mount the timer on a beam at the back to free up that space then I have give myself more room.

Do you think the stop and fix would be ok in the trays between session or should they be bottled until the next use? Also do you keep the stop and fix you have used in the developing tank or bin it?

I don't know about the trays but film developing chemicals are (generally) one shot or reuse tell us what your using or check the bottle. Stop can be reused a lot a clip test will tell you if its still good.

not fixer or stop

Great news that you have the darkroom set up and a great example to others as to how it can be done cheaply and with a small space.

Good luck and look forward to seeing the results.

May I ask, I don't think I missed it, where have you set this up? Looks decent!

Hi

I usually rebottle the fix and stop after each session, I check the fix useing the lead you cut from the film before loading into the developing tank. The piece of film should be clear after the recommended fix time for the fix you are useing. If not it is exhausted and you will need to mix some new fix. I usually replace the stop on a regular basis. Please note that I only develope B&W film and use the one shot method. My favorite combination is Delta 100/ Acros 100 and Perceptol at 1 to 1 20c.

i would hazard a guess and say in the loft . roof joists(?) and ariel might be a giveaway.and generaly the film leader should clear in half the fix time,
