I recently received some prints back from DSCL, who I have used a number of times before and the results have been ok. However, this time they seem about a stop underexposed. I use some of the same images for a photobook from Jessops which came out brighter, much closer to the image on my screen. My spyder 3 pro is telling me everything is fine, and viewed on a couple of other monitors (albeit uncalibrated) the images look fine.
I'm not sure whether my calibration is playing up, or whether there was a problem with the prints from DSCL (both DSCL and Jessops were set not to do any correction). Would someone else with a calibrated monitor be so kind as to tell me if they can see some small amount of green and detail in the foreground of this shot? As on the prints everything but the sky is totally saturated black. (the Jessops book was smaller so I wouldnt expect to see much detail there anyway).
Maybe I'm expecting too much from a highthroughput printer? Maybe I just have a dodgey calibration, any help would be much appreciated.
